ParticipantI think banning anyone for expressing his opinions is a bad idea.
I also think that jficquette, as someone else said, represents a huge portion of the population. He doesn’t see how partisan he is. He thinks he has information to back up what he says (until you call him on it; then he ignores you or says, “I don’t care what you think”). He can’t see his own hypocrisy, despite the fact that it’s pretty outrageous. There are millions just like him. And lots of them vote. So they’re important. And it’s important to try to understand them (if you want to understand this country).
I agree with New Renter about a new “active forum topics” set up. Maybe have an “Active forum topics” section which includes the four real estate-related topic areas and an “Active OT forum topics” right below it which includes all the off topic discussions.

John Ficquette, you continue to amuse me greatly. From a guy who said, in response to question he couldn’t answer (because he was wrong and didn’t have a clue what he was talking about), “I don’t care what you think,” saying that somebody else resorted to childish behavior after they realized they were pwned is hilariously hypocritical. It’s every bit as hypocritical and ridiculous as your “only asians are as racist as blacks” comment. I’m glad you’re so willing to make such a fool out of yourself. Keep bringing me the laughs!

Participantjmrobbie1,
I hope you’re right. But, unfortunately for me (sitting on cash and waiting to buy in Carmel Valley), the question isn’t, “how many sane individuals would actually purchase one of these homes.” Sane, apparently, has nothing to do with it.
The S Calf housing market today represents the most overpriced and inflated prices ever in the history of a U.S. housing market.
I’d agree if you said, “the Socal housing market of two years ago represents…” Things have changed a lot since then. So I’d say the popcorn’s in the oil. But in CV, the heat’s pretty low. There are lots of people buying here at prices not far from the peak. The popping of low-priced kernels is increasing in frequency, though. So while I think the oil is starting to heat up, I do agree with you that, for Carmel Valley, the real pain is a ways off.
By the way, the house I’m talking about is 5427 Harvest Run Drive. Google that and you’ll see the house. I’m not sure why people put “54XX Harvest Run Drive when talking about houses, and I hope I haven’t made some kind of faux pas here. If somebody could explain to me what the deal is there, I’d appreciate it.
As far as fixing up your rental, I make minor repairs on mine all the time.
