Participantif this happens it’s good news indeed. It’s about time the bank releases some of this “shadow” inventory we’ve heard so much about.
But I’ve also heard about this tsunami for quite some time, each time to be disappointed by the lack of substantial increase in inventory. I’ll remain cautiously optimistic but skeptical until we actually see it.ybitz

ParticipantCA Renter… I think you’re right. The housing credit seems to be pulling forward demand and creating fierce competition for the limited inventory that’s on the market. The increased demand I believe is driving up the price much more than the housing credit is for, because home buyers get emotionally and don’t get as rationally as they would otherwise be.
I guess time will tell how much the house price will drop after the credit expires.ybitz

ParticipantWell, counterfeiting is more than just getting a counterfeit printer. Getting the paper (technically fabric/clothe) right is often the harder part.
Btw, don’t know if others have noticed. Several years back the Secret Service made all scanner manufacturers put in a software check in their firmware so that if an user tries to scan US bank notes, the driver will abort the scan. I can fold the bill in half and scan correctly, but not the whole bill.
