PatientlyWaiting,
I don’t agree so. My experience told me that an offer will be used by the seller’s agent to stir up the bidding.
I offered a good price for a new home recently below the asking price. The sales girl told me they would take it but it would take three days to pass the accounting etc. Three days later, she called and told me that some one offered above the asking price and they decided to give him the offer.
Think about this scenario: you walk into a house that you want to buy, but you are still hesitate about how the price. Then you are told there has already been an offer. What would you do? If you want to get the house, you’ll likely to offer above the asking price, because you don’t know that offer was way below it. The problem with new home is that you cannot set the offer limit fo 24 hours.
WranglerParticipanthi HLS, what’s your email? We’re looking for a full documentation loan for a purchase price about $750K. We can pay down 20%, but not sure if it would make much difference for the rate if we pay only 10% or 5%. Our credit scores are above 780. The mortgage before tax deduction will be less than 1/3 our gross monthly income for 10% downpayment. We’re mainly looking at 30 fixed, 15 fixed, 5/1 ARM.
Thanks a lot

WranglerParticipantI have a question regarding the Meth Lab thing. Would those drug maker live in the Meth Lab house, or they would buy an old (probably isolated) house for the “lab” but live a better house somewhere else? I read this listed house was a formal modal in a relative newer area.

WranglerParticipantYou don’t pay property tax in China. That’s one of the greatest things as a home owner there. As this country has a young government of only 58 years history, it has been experiencing a lot of revolutions since day one (bad or good). Policies can change. I read news that in their congress meeting(People’s representation assembly), some people have already proposed to make land private property for several times, but those proposals did not pass yet. It will pass one day.

WranglerParticipantHLS,
Interesting posts. Is there way to find out a criminal’s term in jail? Any one knows how to find it? Links?
