ParticipantHi AN the carpet and granite in kitchen was only thing contracted out. I did the granite in bathrooms and everything else. This place was actually a ton easier than the cabin I did in 08. Tons of my videos on that same youtube channel. The limestone backsplash was expensive. I actually was told $6 per sqft for material was a good deal. Granite tops in bathrooms were cheap, that 61″ top was like $299 and undermounts sinks for like $30 ea. I found a small place in garbage grove for the vanities and tops. As for the appliances the stove we bought in 07 from someone loosing their house the next day for $150 the fridge we bought from lowes back in 2005, the overhead microwave was like $159 from home depot (no big brand) and dishwasher was lowes at $319. I tried to keep cost down with so much dang stuff to do. The kitchen was a total of $9500. Cabinets were actually from IKEA with those slow closing drawers and doors (even pantry doors). I think I am into it all for right around 17-18k.
We both look back now at the saying I used to say from 05-09 like “someone is friggin living in our house and cant afford it right now” or the famous one, “You know the place we buy is going to look like a dump right?”.
Heck ya TG I thought formal TV room was a great idea lol. I dont want a room with furniture in it nobody ever uses. Thats for rich people.
Edit: heres the cabin in late 08
I did it all except the carpet and charging the split ac unit I put in.
