I do not think it is just the right that is angry. There are a lot of disenfranchised people out there because of high unemployment and no hope. These people will be exploited under certain circumstances such as the London riots and then we will have problems in some of our major cities. It will not take much to set them off either. I do not see the angry right as becoming a mob, Brian. It is the people that have nothing to lose that you should fear. Not the ones with jobs.

Civil War on Street- “Finally, after trillions in fraudulent activity, trillions in bailouts, trillions in printed money, billions in political bribing and billions in bonuses, the criminal cartel members on Wall Street are beginning to get what they deserve.”

It certainly means everything to a child when they know you are proud of them. We definitely need great doctors and you helped her succeed by being there.
VeritasParticipantAllan,
Does huffing cordite kill brain cells or is that brian cells?
September 3, 2011 at 6:46 PM in reply to: Roubini: “We Are in ‘Worse Situation Than in 2008” #728315VeritasParticipantAwesome post Allan. I do still believe we are the shining city on the hill and I believe in our exceptionalism even though Stalin may have coined that term. Huge congrats to you SK in CV for raising a brilliant daughter with great character. Kids do not raise themselves.

Not sure about the gold reserves either. What they say is gold and what is really gold concerns me as in all that glitters is not gold. Otherwise, I really enjoyed your take on Roubini. Well done.
Brian,
What in the world is a “new worldly foreign student”? How much wine did you drink while reading this thread? You always act like you know what a real American says, thinks or wants, so why don’t you go ahead and define real American for us, so we do not have to guess. I am kind of tired of your pseudo cosmopolitan persona.
As an American, unknown if I am real or unreal, I welcome skilled immigrants and if they take the best jobs, I have to believe they were the most qualified for the job. It they live here and make money here and spend it here, it only enriches this country. This is a country of immigrants and even the natives had to arrive here from somewhere else long ago. I do not think that real Americans are as full of class envy and xenophobia as you think. Perhaps you are projecting your own feelings on them, then attributing them to real
Americans.End of rant.
VeritasParticipantWe are royally screwed now, so how would we know the difference?
VeritasParticipantInteresting point of view. We shall see…
“That’s why I believe Sarah Palin isn’t running, and why she will ultimately endorse Rick Perry. And if her bet pays off and Perry becomes president, don’t be surprised if the next Secretary of Energy is a certain former Alaska governor who has an aggressive agenda to open up America’s energy resources.”http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/fund-sarah-palin-/2011/09/02/id/409556
