Humor is a good thing. Back to the serious side of the discussion:
“Reagan had stated in his inaugural speech that politics is responsible to truth. ‘For many years now, you and I have been shushed like children and told there are no simple answers to complex problems which are beyond our comprehension. ‘The truth is,’ he responded, ‘there are simple answers—there are just not easy ones.’”

Responding to your insightful remarks about the abuse by the military- “However, nothing has ever been accomplished without using force, Weber contended, and in a world of power, the nations state has no choice. The question was whether force is used wisely and morally, with a clear understanding that tragedy is entailed in all actions where bad means must be used to achieve good ends.” Its one of those terrible choices between evils. I think you covered the dilemma we face very ably.

That includes building more refineries. However, I have always been a fan of nuclear energy. Nice and clean. It is the economic conundrum: when more is less, more supply equals less cost.
