Notice of Defaults (NOD) are recorded in the county they are issued. I assume you have your landlords name. Plug it into the recorded document search and see what it comes up with.

Of course he might own the property in an LLC or corporate name – you can figure that out by plugging in your parcel # (Click on parcel # on the menu on the left.) You can get your parcel # by plugging in your address on Zillow – it’s under the info about the home.
If you think your landlord has stopped paying, I’d make it a habit to check the county records once a week. If you bookmark the link it takes less than a minute.
You can see if your landlord paid their property taxes here
http://trweb.co.clark.nv.us/Public records are our friends. ;)
Thanks – That’s just what I was looking for. It would appear that there’s not a NOD and the taxes were last paid in October, but I’ll keep an eye on it.

vegasrenterParticipant

Possibly, but pretending you don’t have a checklist is worse.
Here’s my checklist:
1. Hot
2. Sense of humor
3. Hot
4. Disease-free
5. Hot
6. Stifles any urge to nagThings most men say they care about but I don’t:
1. Education, intelligence, etc.
These are traits I want my long-term friends to have (male or female). And if a woman I’m dating has them – bonus. But if she doesn’t – no big deal. It’s not like we’re going to get married, after all.
2. Kids
I’m not going to be their father. And sometimes it’s good when a woman you’re dating has a lot of other responsibilities on her plate – she has less time for you.
3. Smoking
As long as she doesn’t do it around me and keeps a healthy supply of breath mints handy.
4. Financial responsibility
I won’t be supporting her, so…
To the OP: You didn’t say whether you would looking for a potential wife, or just someone for recreational companionship. As noted above, If I were in the market (I’m not), I would have totally different “lists” depending on that question.
In my opinion, asking around in your social sphere is more likely to find you a quality date than looking in the same anonymous online databases that everyone else is.

vegasrenterParticipantThe phenomenon about flyover country is also somewhat recent. Something I found interesting is that the red state/blue state divide was almost opposite 30 years ago; check out the 1976 electoral map – NOTE: colors are different, blue=republican, red=democrat.

The West Coast and New England were Republican. Deep South and Midwest = Democrat. Only the Midwest didn’t flip from then to now.
