I think the point that is missing from this discussion (I don’t know for sure, I haven’t read the whole thing) is:
The problem isn’t that creationism is taught or mentioned in school. The problem is that some want creationism taught as science. Creationism is not science, it is religion. If it’s taught as religion (as in, some people believe in creationism, some people belive in apotamkin, some people believe in the tooth fairy. These are all faith-based beliefs), then I think there’d be a lot less opposition. Especially if it were part of a program to educate children on all the religions of the world.
To teach creationism as science is to misinform our children, and I can’t see how that would be a good idea.
I am moving to a shark based system of creation.
The sharks see the violence inherent in the system.
They know.
They oppress nobody.
They just eat them.

ParticipantOkay I am calling shark on this thread.
So far in this thread, I have learned that
-The right wing is always crazier (really? by what measure?)
-The the separation of church and state (the colloquial summary of the 1st amendment as coined by Jefferson) has no basis in the constitution
-The Supreme Court does not have jurisdiction to decide on issues of constitutionality (Article 3 section 2 be damned)
-Human effects upon global climate change are easily proved wrong through the existence of climate change (snow in London shows things are in good shape)
-Michael Moore and Ann Coulter are quotable as sources in thoughtful discussionI think its time to talk about pointy toothy fish.
Here are 2 interesting facts
1:
Some people believe that sharks are mammals because sharks often bear their young live (instead of from eggs.2:
Sharks have sharp denticles as scales to keep them clean and protect from parasites.urbanrealtor

ParticipantI vote because it gives me a small voice that I otherwise would not have.
While also believe in the paradox of democratic divergence (think France in the 1800’s), I believe that exercise of democracy is better than the alternative.
