ParticipantOk – I’m a wine novice… The one thing I know is that I don’t like sweet wines. I tend to like Cabs in the winter and chilled sauvignon blanc in the summer.
I’m going on a group vacation (friends determined the itinerary) that includes a few days near Healdsburg in Sonoma.
Any suggestions of wineries or tasting rooms to try up there?
Grazie.

Aecetia: Actually, it wasn’t a football threadjack. Believe me, the Raiders are the LAST thing I want to talk about right now.
I’d be happy to talk about wine, beer or any other distilled spirits, though!

What about zombies.

ParticipantI think our society is going to have to restructure back to the old ways… As parents age, they move in with their children. The family takes care of each other.
I don’t see this is a negative. It has value for the adult children and the grandchildren. As some of you know – I’m living it. My in-laws live in a small “casita” granny flat in our backyard. Their expenses are lower because of it, and my kids learn that family takes care of family and get quality Grandma time.
And the way American’s, in general, are NOT saving for retirement… I suspect a lot of people will not be retiring (and therefore still paying in taxes).
It’s ironic they put Florida in the group. They’ve actively marketed for seniors to move to Florida – best estate tax laws (state level), best services… It’s a growth industry for the state…
