Ha ha….You know that you can play angry birds now on the chrome browser 🙂https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/aknpkdffaafgjchaibgeefbgmgeghloj
Fortunately for you, you don’t have a toddler that likes
Farm Story, Bakery Story, and Restaurant Story…..I figured out those where the games that she accidentally purchased 1000 gems for $100 real U.S. dollars. Now I have apps on both the iPad and the Galaxy Tab so I don’t need to feel so guily about fighting with a 5 year old on playing angry birds versus Farm/Bakery/Restaurant story…
My boys have been eyeing the xoom with the express purpose of playing angry birds. I mock them – tell them to go play plants vs zombies on the computer or one of the gazillian pokemon games on their DS’s. The Xoom is MINE!
(Assuming they’ve finished homework, piano practice, etc… I may not be asian, but I try to channel my inner tiger mom when I can. Otherwise I tell them to go do homework or practice piano.)

ParticipantI don’t hold out much hope for congress passing any budget that actually reduces spending…
You know that big 6 month spending bill they just passed? The one that supposedly cuts big chunks out of our budget? The CBO just finished running the numbers. It cuts 4.4 Billion in the coming year – but ADDS 7.5 billion in addtional defense spending.
Net decrease – none – it adds 3.2 billion to the budget. They should have just let the old budget auto renew.

Two points, boomers will spend that money at a mcu greater clip than the greatest generation ever did. Second, looking at my Mom and my relatives none of them own real estate anymore. They are all living in nursing homes, assited living and lifecare communities. They also all have LTC insurance that foots the entire bill for those in nursing homes or assisted living. I know this isnt the way everyone is but among upper middle class folks in metroplitian areas it seems to be more the rule than the exception. They lived carefully all their lives and preapred for this just like I am doing.
Except when they don’t have LTC insurance – they have to spend down their “wealth” and there’s less to pass on.
Perhaps 100% of your elderly relatives have LTC insurance. For my family it’s a mixed bag – and same for my peers… Some have it, some don’t. And of those that have it – some use it up – and keep on living. Most LTC plans last 3-5 years.

ParticipantCurrently:
– attempting to learn Italian.
– trying to figure out how to raise my kids to not be juvenile delinquents and actually have them contribute to society.
– playing angry birds. That last one is just since Thursday night – I got my xoom, finally… And I guess I spent too much time on it – because I’m on the 3rd unlocked level. LOL. (Note – I did NOT go back and try to get 3 *’s for all the games – just getting past the level was good enough for me.)
Now that I have my xoom – I’m going to take up writing android apps.
Oh – and my son’s FLL team is starting up again – so I’ll be spending a lot of time herding 10 year olds as they learn how to program the NXT.
