Participant
Why would anyone cop to the truth when playing the Hannity game is so much more satisfying?
Funny to see the righties carping about having national security be a priority for someone ‘not on their team’. Is there anything these losers won’t cry about?
Republicans as victims – who knew?
Just wait until Obama captures Osama sometime within the next few months. Hannity’s and Rush’s respective heads will explode. Obama is going to prosecute the War on Terror so much better than the righties ever did.
Once Obama trumps them on national security, what are they going to do? Will they become peaceniks just so they can continue criticizing Obama? That would be hilarious and would show what goofballs the righties really are.
Edit: I have a prediction as to what the righties will do when Obama captures Osama: O’Reilly will put out a Talking Points memo where he gives all the credit to Bush. O’Reilly will say that it was really Bush’s 6 year “War on Terror” that captured Osama and that Obama was just lucky enough to be in Office when Osama was captured.
The Talking Point will be something like: Bush loosened the lid on the jar; all Obama had to do was lift it off.

Participant
I’m not happy with the taxpayers bailing out the “uber-capitalists” either. I would have no problem with the govt. trying to recapture past payments to execs but for one slippery issue: the rule of law. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to take a couple of hundred million dollars from each and every one of these banking clowns, but the laws are fairly unambiguous where these things are concerned and I don’t know how you get around them (or change them) without creating a lot of havok.
A couple things:
(1) It may be that folks like John Thain, etc committed fraud by talking up their companies when they knew otherwise. That’s one way to go after them.(2) The laws can be changed. It’s time for a wealth tax in this country. There’s no way that 1% of the population should hold 90% of the wealth. Especially when a large portion of that 1% has now been bailed out by taxpayers.
The wealth tax should only target the top 1% and maybe have it expire in 8 years. Something like 5% a year for 8 years ought to start evening things out.
