ParticipantInner city revival is just over hyped IMO.
IMO There have been many “forced” attempts at Inner city revival but I think they will not live up to the hyped expectations (at least not in Socal).
Only a small fraction of the Socal population can fit in the downtown areas.

ParticipantLOL The fast aging Younger childless millennials maybe.
The Millennial parents I know are “VERY” fussy and want good neighborhoods in good school districts.
Paying up to 2Mil for it in SD.

Oh well, NY doesn’t need those 25k jobs to make up for that lost tax revenue, right?…. …. AOC probably is proud…. More room for Green Deal Jobs…. ha ha ha. Dumb idiots[/quote]AOC popularity has suffered quite a bit in NY because of this I hear.
She was only elected by low voter turnout in a very small district so maybe she was never really popular in greater NY anyway.
But yea I would rather work for Amazon in SD than NY any day.
The-Shoveler
ParticipantLOL well it does look like SD will get some of the Jobs and investment.
The-Shoveler
ParticipantIMO a lot of them would rather live else where (I hear it all the time from my colleagues in San Jose), but it is where the Jobs are (for the moment).
The Tech pendulum swings in both directions sometimes.

ParticipantSame post on another thread as well.
OK HQ2 now not being built in NY, so how about SD?
Just kidding.

ParticipantI got one, don’t have the info handy but it sounds about right
5% Amazon purchases
2% gas etc…The only reason I got one was because I got $70 Amazon cash for signing.
Still on my 30 day free trial AP, may not keep it,
Seems to me they add the shipping into the cost on most stuff.

ParticipantI long for the days of droughts and endless sunshine.
I guess they can shut down the new desal plant for a few years maybe save a few bucks.

ParticipantNo one is forcing you to live here, you are free to leave anytime you want.

ParticipantLOL America is not in decline.

ParticipantYea it’s all kumbaya an all,
But I think it will pretty much mean the nationalization of just about everything.
Kind of like China in some degrees, You only own anything at the pleasure of the gov.

Participant“I figure if they come after it, I’ll spend it all or convert it to gold and pretend to be broke and have no money. let government take care of me.”
That is actually not too far fetched LOL.
That is what a lot of Chinese did during Mao’s rule.
If they elect one of these AOC types I would not be too surprised to see housing nationalized. (happened in Iran).

Participant“Hate him as much as you do, but my prediction is Trump is going to win a second term for 2 reasons.”
1) No Stupid wars.
2) Peace and prosperity are worth something.
Other than that I think the guy is actually nuts too.
