The-ShovelerParticipant
Maybe that is it, maybe the central banks fear the end of capitalism.
Anyway there does seem to be a cooperative considerable effort by the central banks to avoid a serious bust cycle.
The-ShovelerParticipantSome are predicting the end of the boom and bust cycle.
Maybe that is a sign LOL.
But seriously I think the central banks now see that as their end goal.
The-ShovelerParticipantYea it could have been handled much differently but I still maintain to this day that the great recession was a planned event (it happened the way they “the fed and powers that be” wanted it to). (seriously if we could see it coming you honestly think they did not)
Debt used to build infrastructure is not wasted money (unless you give it to California politicians who can’t seem to do or build anything LOL).
China debt is up to 3 times their GDP we are at about 1 time GDP so we are looking good actually compared to most of the rest of the developed or developing world.
The-ShovelerParticipantI never predicted the country would fall into ruin just a temporary downturn in RE that would quickly rebound.
The-ShovelerParticipantAs long as we can hold it together politically I think the country will continue to lead and do just fine.
The biggest threat IMO right now is the unwillingness to meet each other half way (it is either extreme left or extreme right any one in the middle will be thrown out on their ear). I don’t think the real majority of the country really wants this, it is just the few who hold the political strings screwing things up.
The-ShovelerParticipantLOL so do you seriously think we will ever pay it off at this point? (the national debt).
One day some president will just order the treasury to mint a bunch of trillion dollar coins and use those to pay it off and I predict “nothing will happen”, we will just go on like it never happened.
anyway IMO.
The-ShovelerParticipantOntario and surrounds are growing like crazy.
The Ontario airport now offers direct flights to China etc.. cheaper than flying from LAX.
SD could really use heavy freight rail lines to meet the rail heads in riverside etc..
Adding a metro-rail to that would help a lot too but actually freight rail is more important IMO.
The-ShovelerParticipantIf not for immigration our population would be declining.
It is very very hard to immigrate to either China or Japan.
The-ShovelerParticipantRegions within regions,
I was listening to a report that the san fernando valley
was growing so much faster economically and population wise than the nation as a whole that it is not expected to be impacted much by any foreseeable slow down.Along the i-15 corridor there are new housing projects going up everywhere, seeing new home signs next to every off-ramp.
The-ShovelerParticipantThe inner city has always been the place where the poor and homeless live (at least since the 1950’s).
Don’t know why anyone thought it was a great idea to try to gentrify the inner city displacing the poor etc…
Anyway not so much an issue out in the sticks where I live.
The-ShovelerParticipantduplicate
The-ShovelerParticipantI don’t have retirement FOMO,
I have FOMO of not being in involved/working in the tech biz (or something like that, can’t describe it exactly).
The-ShovelerParticipant“what slow down”,
Some analysts are predicting the next decade will be the roaring 20’s.
Given the Demographics I could see that for the USA.
We will see I guess LOL.
The-ShovelerParticipantYea but do they bring you free lunch?
Just kidding.
I think I would rather do real work than attend boring meetings LOL.
Have fun!
