The-ShovelerParticipant
Home Depot should still be open,
You can go out to exercise (so I am thinking walks on the beach still an option), build homes, eat drive through etc…
I am starting to think, give it another week people will just start figuring out how to work around this.
The-ShovelerParticipantI grabbed the sant patricks day deals and stocked up on beer, cabbage and corn-beef.
Must be the Irish in me LOL.
They are saying that TP will soon be restocked with abundant supply but that “FOOD” will be our next challenge.
Wall-mart announced giving bonuses, they are in boom times
The great TP boom of 2020 LOL.The-ShovelerParticipant

An easier to read format:

I have to say I think this is going too far, making the cure worse than the disease.
The-ShovelerParticipantIf these drastic measures continue beyond 2 months or so IMO we would be looking at a 75-80% drop in stock markets, public pension failures, maybe 25-50% drop in RE depending on location.
Anyway we will all be wondering if it was worth it IMO.
The-ShovelerParticipant
Wow, Glad I pulled out of the market just after posting the above.
They are having bank runs in India !!
We get another big down day (say S&P -35%) I am going to start moving my 401K back in slowly may 10-15% at a time.
The-ShovelerParticipant
Rebate checks coming soon! Lol…
IMO they do that maybe 1 more time then declare Victory!!
The-ShovelerParticipant
Well, in California, Gavin Newsom allowed counties to pause evictions for non payment of rents.
Only temporarily deferred, rent will still need to be made up.The-ShovelerParticipant

MGM and Wynn resorts shutting down. Also locally, most of the casinos are shutting down too, bars and clubs. Total closure. Traffic will be great though :)
This will get real crappy real quick economically unless uncle Sam starts sending out checks real soon.
Well it seems Cash drop is coming soon, but IMO it will get old real quick, maybe one or two more of these then I think they declare Victory !!
The-ShovelerParticipantIMO We (the USA) will give it a month possibly two, then declare victory no matter what is happening on the ground.
Or just decide it is not worth it like England.
We will see.

I hear rumors that a lot of workers are missing (not showing up).
They are also having “NEW” outbreaks in other cities.
They are not out of the woods by any measure, maybe once “everyone” in a region has had it they declare it over for that region.

The-ShovelerParticipantCan’t help but feel we are really going to regret all these drastic measures (economically). Hopefully this is over in a month or two. There are lots of rumors that China is lying about having this under control as well.

Kind of weird to be working from home. I need to order a new machine gonna get a 12 core Ryzen 3900x
It’s not too bad once in a while. I do it sometimes. The dog loves it when I stay home, she’s glued to my side all day.
I wouldn’t want to do it all week every week…I’d get cabin fever and gain 20 lbs.
I am going out and buying a new larger monitor to make it a little easier to WFH, I think this may end up actually becoming a boom in consumer spending LOL.
People will probably end up buying stuff to keep their kids busy as well.
The-ShovelerParticipantIMO our response has been fairly good (and maybe a little too drastic, time will tell).
We are doing much better than Europe so far IMO.
