ParticipantI would like to say that I had been fully invested but I was not so My 401K returns have been somewhat diluted.
But really aside from what is going on in the middle-east (the whole place seems to be going to heck lately), I don’t see a crash coming.
Maybe that could be a signal to sell LOL.In fact I see just the opposite happening, I think we may just be getting started but I am really lousy at stocks so there you are.

ParticipantI don’t think you can get to a sell worthy bubble/crash without No-down No-Nothing NINJA Loans.
You may want to sell a home for different reasons, but I don’t think I will see another housing crash like the last.
Maybe when they rope off an area for shanty towns (could happen in 25-50 or so years).

Participant
Cars probably wouldn’t cost that much less without financing. They have long useful lives and help generate income. Financing at low interest therefore a good idea.
College would cost a tiny fraction of its price without financing.
Like it or not, a collage education will be a lot lot cheaper soon.
The internet online collage will forever change this.
it cannot be stopped

ParticipantA camera you can put on a helmet or the end of a stick,
I mean the barriers to entry are huge LOL.
Just kidding I know nothing about GoPro.
But I think the fed is not done yet so the market will continue.
In fact we may just be getting started.

ParticipantWhy do you think the USA economy will collapse ?
I think just the opposite is about to happen
The largest demographic population group in the U.S.A just turned 22 and most likely just got out of college.
minimum wage set to go up dramatically.
In 1980 the largest part of the population was in their early/mid 20’s and it was incredibly hard to find or keep a Job and everyone thought Japan was going to take over the world and the USA was done!!
Sound familiar ?By the mid 80’s wage growth was going through the roof as was GDP.

ParticipantA short term 10% drop could happen because it’s Thursday.
I don’t consider that a significant drop.
Get to 20% now were talking.
Don’t see that happening without a major economic disruption.The-Shoveler

Most likely the debt will be evaporated first.
Also it’s more a ocean/boat thing.
The-Shoveler
ParticipantToo obvious, maybe they will just increase wage inflation from the bottom up 🙂
Still waiting for the trillion dollar coin.

ParticipantI don’t worry about the Fed Debt, I worry about local municipalities and state debt (they can’t print their way out).
No one is going to pay this back (well at least not in today’s dollars).
Deflation will not be a long lasting thing, the local municipalities can’t afford it.

ParticipantAnd the Cold war was peaking LOL.
what killed it was the end of the cold war.

Participant2000 or 2008 repeat would be great for my 401K.
(been sitting on the side line far too long).
Yea I am good if that occurs, I just think at this point not the 1970’s so much as the 1980’s repeat looks most likely to me (but with much lower interest rates, maybe 7-8%).
By the mid 80’s wage growth was going through the roof as was GDP. (that is what I see as most likely, probably no one else see it that way LOL).
What on earth would make that happen??
penned up demand !!
Same as the 80’s for the most part.
Well unless Iraq takes us down Temporarily for a little while first.

ParticipantThat is a little weird but then again the entire population of IceLand is a little over 300K
Or a little bigger than Temecula to put it in perspective
