ParticipantI’m not “far Left” in the sense of subscribing to any one doctrine.
But I sincerely wish the worst to people who treat their employees like crap. Human decency should be shown, in all relations. Personal and professional. People who don’t show decency always end up being slapped around by karma eventually, and a good job too.
Essentially they’re saying to their employees: “economy’s bad. You won’t easily find another job if you quit/get fired. Let’s make you work more, and not spend time with your family at a time which should be shared with family.” Actually, they’re probably not even thinking about ANYTHING except their bottom line. Callous. Disgusting.
Yeah, shoppers, trample away, you sad bunch of economic bio-robots.

ParticipantFor example, the average american woman owns 19 shoes.
The average British woman owns 17 shoes.Does this mean that the average Anglo woman only has one leg, or that she likes to walk with only one shoe? 😀 Inquiring minds wish to know.
In seriousness, France has a less harsh climate than most of America. England’s is more constant with little to no snow. Perhaps the extra pairs are winter boots and summer sandals.

ParticipantSoon they will want me to come in the office the day after T-Day, after all I should have got my shopping done on T-Day.
You shop on Black Friday? I generally take care of business before BF, or first week of Dec. That is if I don’t buy online.
Black Friday is generally spent on my family’s farm at this point, 20 miles from the nearest big box store.

ParticipantAnd think of the Mall*Wart employees “encouraged” to work on Turkey Day rather than spending it with their families. Boycott, baby!
Oh, and hope that whoever made that decision gets incurable nut (or c*nt) cancer and dies screaming.

ParticipantThing is, innocent people have been executed. Ask Cameron Todd Willingham in TX. Oh wait, you can’t cos he was murdered by the state.
Simple solution – make the maximum sentence life WITH parole. Exculpatory evidence can then be presented to the parole board as well as the courts.

ParticipantReally I think If you have not been to China in the last few years to see it for yourself, you really don’t fully grasp it.
China is burning a lot of coal FOR NOW. They’re also heavily invested in nuclear tech and renewables. Unlike the US, they don’t have a NIMBY limo-liberal-whiny-bytch-lawyer problem, so they’re actually building out infrastructure.

ParticipantPlease buy spdrun. The more the better. Might want to buy on margin too.
I’ll wait till this little lemmingfest is over, then I shall. Obama’s just a president, not a demigod or demon. Unless he starts dropping H-bombs, the world won’t end.
In fact, the world and environment is probably better off for not having Romney for US President. Obama is more likely to address climate issues rather than sacrificing them on the altar of the economy.

ParticipantOh please. Have you actually seen how the average family on welfare lives?
Really the only thing that’s changing is that the playing field for health insurance is being leveled between the self-employed, small businesses, and large conglomerates. This is a good thing for capitalism and free-enterprise, since people will be more free to walk off and start their own businesses – immobility of labor due to insurance or other considerations is a bad thing.

ParticipantYes, but several people’s retirements aren’t self-directed..
Fortunately, I’m not several people, just me. Having one ego in several bodies would be disturbing for all to see.

ParticipantMy stocks are actually fairly steady today. Love renewables!!!
This being said, I’m hoping for a 10-20% correction. Should be a nice opportunity to make moneh!

ParticipantGood. Here’s hoping to see DOW 12k or lower in the next few months.
Oh yeah, and a lot of the coming cuts are to the military – we’ve been overspending in that respect since 9/11 and no one has had the cojones to put a stop to it.
