Participant

divorcing a stay at home mom will leave him with barely enough to eat on, let alone pay a mortgage
How about divorce the wife and ask her to get back to work immediately?
He has the money so he holds the cards.
I don’t think that any judge would approve of her staying at home and not working.
Pay the $40 grand now and get rid of her as fast you he can. That’s better than living with a whiner for the next 10 years.

Whoa horsey! What makes you think she’s a whiner? Stay at home moms aren’t whiners. It’s a family decision. For some families having a parent stay at home to care for the child/children makes the best sense. And if she hasn’t been working it can be a challenge to re-enter the workforce, especially during these economic times. I am not saying she shouldn’t get a job, but don’t make judgements until you have all the facts.seattle-relo

ParticipantI’m confused as to why people aren’t trying to sell some of these items like the big tv or computer equipment. I can understand not cleaning the place up, but leaving all your things behind – that just doesn’t make sense to me. All that means is they are going to have to spend more money to replace it all.
I actually did feel sad when they were talking about children’s toys being left behind. Children are having to pay the emotional price of stupid decisions adults have made. Sad.

ParticipantThanks Pablo. I did a web search and it seems that most likely it is a nonrecourse state.
