In the next several years, regretably each of my siblings will receive several hundred thousand dollars from my parents estate which is all invested in cash or cd’s (no more than 100K in any bank). The money couldnt be more secure and there is so much insurance that it would be impossible to spend the assets down. My parents were very middle income folks but children of the depression. They saved everything and lived humbly as I do. I know many other people just like them. There is a HUGE wealth transfer coming to the boomers in the next decade. Whereas our parents were savers, we tend to be spenders and this money will hit the economy in a big way. This is one source that will have a substantial impact on a macro level. I’m sure there are others.

Update time!

Short sales 6,867 which is a pretty big drop from 7,164 last week.

Countywide we are at 17,812 down from 17,888 last week.

My latest NOD reports coming from title companies seem to be shrinking substantially for now. I’ll keep you posted as to how this goes.

No offense on Jamul intended. Its just a running joke between Josh and I from b4 you showed up. For the record, I made a comment about 1 year ago based upon information I got from a friend who is an REO guy (he was actually one of the top 3 guys in the county during the last cycle) and Josh tried to say he was full of it. The REO is a very straight shooter and a very tough guy. I suggested to Josh that if he said my friend was full of it to his face, he would get his ass kicked all the way to Jamul.

Where the money came from is also irrelevant. The only thing that matters is whether it is there in cash.
