Maybe in China, because jobs may actually start coming back here. When unemployment benefits run out, there’ll be lots of people willing to work for less than the current minimum wage.
It’s more complicated than that. You have to think about aggregate demand and exchange rates (particularly the USD/CNY exchange rate).
To put it simply: any attempt to bring back manufacturing/exporting jobs by cutting the minimum wage will be met by the Chinese government with an adjustment of USD/CNY to make sure that Chinese stuff is still cheaper.
Not a bad point. That doesn’t necessarily hurt us, though, as we buy so much of that stuff. Plus, devaluing their currency puts pressure on them in other ways. They can’t do it ad-infinitum.

ParticipantNo question – you need legal help on this. Too complicated for even the Piggs here, I’d say. When one guy says you can ignore the bill collectors and another guy says you may have signed some document that makes you liable, then you need professional help.
I’d recommend calling some law offices that specialize in something other than this and ask them for recommendations of good attorneys that do specialize in this. I don’t even know what “this” is.
Very sorry to hear you have to deal with this. Best of luck.

Participant
I have no idea how to fix this, and I wouldn’t have time even if I did because I have too many emails to send, too many forms to fill out, and too many silly meetings to take up space in.
“Post of the year” nomination right there.
