Navydoc,
You are quite right about the accuracy of the gender news from sonograms. We were told it’s a girl, but it took a loong time because her ackward position π
Hmm….I was hoping for a boy, so I can have a true fishing/hunting partner…….ehhh, I guess girls can do that nowadays anyway π
If not…I’ll recruit fellow piggs as fishing/hunting buddies……
I’m getting drunk tonight………that’s good news any way I look at it.
Over & out….

SD TransplantParticipantYou guys can’t tell what a timely topic this is for me. I am taking my wife for a sonogram today (lunch) to find out if we will buy pink or blue/green baby clothes soon……Yipiiiii it’s our first baby π
I’ve got a few girl names I like, but we’ve narrowed/compromised it down to Briana. I love Emma, but my wife doesn’t like it.
I have some requirements of my own that will have to allow the name to be easy to transcend multiple languages/cultures (e.g. Paul – ok in English, EU – many countries….etc). Hence, today I’ll find out …..

SD TransplantParticipantI’ve heard the same question on KPBS this morning and here it is what came to mind immediately. I don’t know if I could call these accomplishments, but they might be for some:
1) Spending aprox $12 billion daily with our troops deployed
2) The dead count is way over 3,000 for our troops (no clue how many maimed for life)
3) Barrel of oil at about $111 from $36 pre-war level
4) Dick Cheney – is richer via Halliburton’s fat contracts
5) We know that WMDs and Iraq’s ex president were no real treat to the US (WMD were non-existent; Sadam Hussein was a big loud mouth – a little bit like Alan Greenspan – just not in the same line of business)
6) Recently (last decade), we stunk at spreading DEMOCRACY and lost our true American reputation along with it.
7) After 5 years we still can’t get the oil production to the pre-war levels & Iraq’s infrastructure is worse than before.
8) No – there was no Al Queda in there – but they are there now – so we are going to keep this goingToo many other to list – but it’s a great question.
P.S. Some of the figures I heard recently (Radio, various reading sources, so I don’t have exact #s or sources)…. but I hope that I’m not too far off.

SD TransplantParticipantWhere would we be w/out a bail out?
1) In real terms, Granite countertops will be 50% more devalued as an “investment” than the mighty dollar – which is continuously plunging.
2) Just about now, the phrase “now, with so much inventory, it is the best time to buy a place” would be forbidden.
3) The majority of the RE articles in the MSM would be related to “why renting makes sense” and ” mobility is key to find good employment in a prolonged recession”
4) Irrational exuberance would have a true new meaning – such as a test required to pass the Broker’s license exam.
5) Your neighboorhood Bank would ask you to pick a house for 1/2 of what you are currently paying for rent w/out a lease/contract (as long as someone take care of the place)
6) The mediocre realtors will be looking for ways to get back to a Community College – but the budgets are cut – and there is a waiting list to take any math, finance, or econ classes.
7) Taking the dog out for a walk is a challenge because your pet is too distracted by the pets left behind in your neighboorhood – as a result of irresponsible investors.
I could go on & on…..but I’ll let the rest of you continue.
