ParticipantThe problem is that the dream house for you is not the dream house for other people. Soliciting opinions for your dream house will end up with people squabbling over why the versions that they like are better then each other.
Why don’t you state what you want and say to hell with what other people think:
– location (somewhat close to carmel valley)
– school district
– size
– old house/new house?
– is a yard important…etc
etc

ParticipantWhat also has not been mentioned is the timeframe. It could very well be that the intent here was simply to buy time and get the full package into the lender so that the legal dept can stall the trustee sale. Then when the lender counters the price the listing agent will have more time to fetch a higher offer.
I am not saying this is the case but could be the case.

ParticipantExcellent measured response by UCGAL. They are simply trying to get something into the lender for processing. It will delay things at best and give the owners a few more months of free living.

ParticipantThe banks have already been able to cope with dribbling out defaults. The question is not whether there are still more foreclosures to come. We already know that there are alot of foreclosures and short sales still in the pipe, more then likely a few more years worth.
It should be painfully apparent that distress will not crash the market as the powers that be have a come up with a strategy to deal with that issue. Relying on that to bring your pricing down is a poor strategy.
