ParticipantThere is a spot near (but not at) Kate Sessions park which is nice because you can see Sea World, the Pops and downtown all from that one place. I forgot exactly where as we went there last year. It was like on a neighborhood street and we got out and walked and there was this trail between homes that you could walk between. Seems like all of the neighbors knew of it. Sorry for the not so precise info.

ParticipantTough call. East CV is still expensive and for my money you do not get much home for the overhead you pay including MR and HOA in most cases. The housing stock is newer compared to say west PQ which is good and of course the schools are good. It really is your taste. What drives your choice? Commute, schools, buying a newer home verses older home? Are you talking off of Del Sur somewhere or are you thinking more to the west? I think that the area is still heavy in demand. You will most likely overpay and if you had awhile to wait that would be good. If you have to bite the bullet now then you gotta do what ya gotta do. Obviously you get more for your money if you could extend into PQ, Poway or CMR.

Participantstocks very interesting article. I follow another former posters blog who feels the same way about gold (and etfs) that you do. He preaches futures rather then etfs due primarily to liquidity.
One question, is your statement regarding etfs, extending to the negative correlated ones. For instance SQQQ a HIGHLY leveraged and risky etf. Even if it is downside are you saying that in a flash decline the market can simply say tough luck the etf gets nothing. Is that because of the leverage?
