Who knows what their secret algorithm is. They probably have a built up an entire consumer profile on you- your favorite restaurants, your areas of interest (Computer stuff,electronics,audio/video, home improvement)– and a certain deviation from your normal pattern will trigger a fraud alert. Of course in your case the alert triggered even at places you frequent often. Strange.

sd-maybeParticipantjpinpb, good catch on their part and most people would agree in your case it is a clear cut red flag since you can’t be in a coffee shop in SD and Walmart in PA at the same time. But for some people they seem to be going way overboard (locking the card because of purchases in 2 separate departments in the same department store).

I think builders would be more receptive to extreme lowball moreso than resale, has anyone had success with offering 15%+ off builder’s ask? Not too long ago I had a buddy offered 50K off builder’s ask in SEH…and they accepted. He’s kicking himself for not being more aggressive.
