Participant
”..Asians in MM are mainly blue collar Asians…”
Exactly. And that means everything in terms of the feel of the neighborhood.
True, I agree with the general feel that PQ is better and more beautiful. But one buys in a neigborhood, not in a zip code. My impression is that the Calle Cristobal one is quite nice, with lots of professionals, houses as new or newer than most PQ, and a little cheaper, some have nice views. And the schools are very good. I am looking at what 500K could buy you in PQ vs MM, as that seem to be about the limit of the OP.

Participant
I’m sure SDR will agree. PQ is a much better option over MM.
I’m seeing the same thing in my areas of interest: Mission Hills, OB, Pt Loma etc. I think this year I might finally find something!
I am curious – why do you think PQ is a MUCH better option over MM?

ParticipantAt your budget you will find a little nicer/newer/larger homes in Mira Mesa than in PQ, from what I can see (I am also looking in both MM and PQ). Mira Mesa schools have become very good, many of them better actually than University City ones. The API scores are now close enough to the PQ ones.
North-West Mira Mesa around Calle Cristobal is especially nice area. It all depends what you want. Where do you have to commute to work? Do you have school-age kids?
