Yeah, well, I have always believed in the power of negative thinking and abhorred positive thinking.
It’s not that great here. I’m grateful for what i have, but I’m not kidding myself. This country is no fun.
We are stressed out. we are unhappy. We are not starving but we’re fatter than ever. We are eating and dreiving ourselves to death.
We’re anxious.
No parent can ever relax. We all lvie in fear for our children. My parents used to not watch us liek hawks. We live in a culture of fear today. It is a violent, cruel, ccrazy, dangerous country. We lock each other up, including kids,a nd kill each other, legally and otherwise, at one of the highest rates int he world. it’s a symptom of a sickness. It’s not a sign of a free society. It’s a sign of a mad society. we may not be broke, but we may be broken.
I’d rather have freedome from religion especially emanating from the governemtn, than the freedom to worship. Im not likely to get that anytime soon.
I’m grateful to be healthy. but I consider it justa lucky break in a sick society.
There is so much wealth, so inequitably distributed, with somuch pain, and so little organized response to human suffering in this society, that it should make us all feel ashamed.
I don’t feel grateful. I feel sick to my stomach.

December 19, 2007 at 12:27 PM in reply to: As a renter, the good times just keep on rolling… #120678scaredyclassicParticipantwe had rats in the ceiling. they had got throught he roof. I set some traps and caught 3. There was still at least one when we moved. I billed the owner for the traps (less than 10 dollars). This person isn’t being that unreasonable. The owner should want to get the varmints out of the house not because he particularly cares about the renter but because of all the damage the varmints can do to the house. I dont think i was the tenant from hell for charging for the traps. I footed the bill for the bait. Bleu Cheese. Recommend it highly. Also, check out the website, http://www.ratkiller.com. good times…

scaredyclassicParticipantSocial pressure sucks. i get it too. You’d think I was guilty of child abuse for renting. i sometimes am tempted to tell my mother in law to shut the hell up. i assume at some point things will get bad enough that she’ll tunaround, forget everything she’s said, and congratualte me for being smart. Then it will definitely be safe to buy. So, for everyone trying to time the bottom, I’d wait until my mother-in-law becomes bearish.
