Out of curiousity, where in San Diego will you be buying your home? Just wondering–based on your insurance background.
We have been La Jolla residents for many years, and have heard reports that even we could be subjected to wildfires that could barrel down the inland canyons right down to the coast. Kind of scary, when you consider properties in our neighborhood now start at $4MM.

ParticipantInteresting how my perceived “smug” attitude is even noticed above the constantly “obnoxious” attitude of those who rail against San Diego homeowners on a daily basis.
I totally agree about the fleeting nature of life. Everyone should know everything can be taken away from any of us at any moment in time. Everything on earth is temporary and eternity is just around the corner for each of us–all the more reason to enjoy every single
day–living the way you want to live.Since my family helped found this city, I’m extremely grateful that we’ve been able to enjoy many wonderful years in San Diego–living the way we want to live.

ParticipantWOW! Reading these very unhappy posts sure makes me glad we bought all of our San Diego properties waaaaaaay before 2000! At least 80% of San Diego homeowners would never consider paying the exhorbitant rents OR mortgage payments OR property taxes that have been referenced here.
