RudeeParticipant
I’ve travelled pretty extensively in Asia and the family of five going to dinner on the family scooter isn’t uncommon. Or the live pig on the back. My favorite was the 6’x4′ tall piece of glass carried by the passenger as they weaved through traffic in Saigon City. Life goes on.
As a note, I’ve ridden a motorcycle for 20 years and (knock on wood) haven’t had a problem. 45 mpg. Comes out of the garage a lot more lately.

RudeeParticipantHere’s one that lays it out very clearly. The local psychology is going to be changing drastically.

RudeeParticipantI believe that this is an overlooked factor (albeit small) in the recent boom. As prices escaladed, Mom and Dad dipped and helped finance the kids so “they could get into the market before it was too late”, helping to drive prices up. The boomers are also incredibly selfish, and they ‘ve helped to create a culture in their offspring of “I want it all, now”. I know ALOT of people who were handed hundreds of thousands for that $850,000 “started home”….
