ParticipantDon’t forget the poor quality of these homes for the price. Have you actually examined these homes closely? It seems the new homes aren’t built to last like the ones built just 20 years ago. I wonder how your “investment” will withstand the years–aside from loss in equity.

ParticipantJust because that’s what they list their prices at doesn’t mean they are selling them at that price or wouldn’t accept an offer far below that price. I know someone who bought from Centex in Sacramento…they made an offer of $75K off a $400K home. Centex ended up accepting $50K off and threw in $75K in upgrades. Not that I think it’s a great deal necessarily, but it’s something to keep in mind. Paying full price is so two years ago…

ParticipantIt might not be as easy as you think because Deutsche Bank is typically just the investor on their loans, not the servicer…you’ll need the servicer to put in an offer. The bank will still likely want to do their own BPO and the whole package anyway, so you might as well just wait until you see a sign in the front yard or watch the MLS.
