ParticipantI am OK with leaving yourself a little room to haggle. But it seems odd to me that people want to believe I am going to low ball them when they have no way to justify their initial pricing.
Here is what I mean. If you are going to sell your car take it to Car Max or a dealership and have them make an offer. This at a very minimum establishes a floor for pricing. Once you know your floor identify the time you are looking to sell. If you have some time you have a little more opportunity to ask for a higher price. But realize that this flexibility decreases over time.
I find it crazy that people will reply about how good a shape their car is in, or you really have to see it to appreciate it. NO I DON’T. What I appreciate is that I am typically willing to pay slightly more than a dealer is willing to give you so that you are getting more than you would get from a trade it and I am spending less then I would spend buying retail. WIN WIN
People point to Private party transactions on KBB but the reality is that they can not purely track this. Their are 2 values that can be tracked . Retail and wholesale and the only 2 things that should matter to the seller is how much I am willing to pay relative to a Professional dealer and how much time they can hold out for a buyer who may be willing to pay more.

ParticipantHomes are only insured for the replacement cost of the home. Most of the value in homes are tied to the land. So while your home may be worth 1 million plus to sell or buy it would not be insured for that amount. If it is a 3000 square foot home, it would probably be insured at about 100 to 150 per square foot to rebuild. or 300 to 450K max. That would include such items as Debris removal, REntal Home etc. Property contents are typically insured for a % plus any riders for things such as expensive rugs, gun collections, jewelery etc.
With respect to having to insure the care with Farmers I am going to raise the Bull shit flag. There is nothing that would require this. It may make sense because you are eligible for a multi line discount. If you are underinsured on your life, that too would provide you with additional discounts. But it pays to shop around if you know what you are doing. If you have a good driving record and your cars are not exotic in nature I suggest getting a quote from Wawanesa or Amica,
