    I used 200k for an example of an income that could safely afford a half a million dollar home.HALF a MILLION dollars. I know this is Southern Cal, but that is still a lot of money especially when there is not much land that domes with it.

    I shared the upstairs with my brother and I had a lot of other friends who were in the same boat. Additionally I know plenty of non profesional , carpenters, plumbers, ploice , fireman who were not making uge money but had steady pay checks, did side jobs, and sqirreled away their nuts each winter. Sorry to insult you snobbery but it is calle being middle class.
