    I am wondering the same thing about 636 Atherton.
    It was the model home listed at $799,000.
    How did $586,000 happen?
    The $7,000 a year Mello Roos could have something to do with it but it still seems fishy.

    My friend just walked through a short sale in our neighborhood. The listing pictures are from 6-8 months ago and looks kind of dumpy.
    These days it is looking pretty good. When you walk through now….There is all new furniture, new big screen T.V., cars etc. They turned it into a model home now that they don’t pay the mortgage.

    I would love to do that. Do I just walk in and ask for the info and they give it to me? I have no clue about this stuff.

    CaRenter. It isn’t that one in Carlsbad. It is an ocean view home in SEH. It was a short sale for over 390 days and had a lock box. About 200 days into it they moved out. Then 6 months ago Realty Trac said it went to auction. Lock Box was taken off. 3 months later the property tax website said it was processing 2008 and 2009 taxes. The taxes have been processed and it still just sits?
