ParticipantSorry for the confusion. I added my own comments.

ParticipantI just received a flyer from Havnanian Homes on Cortez Blu & Gaslamp Square.
The front says:
“Hurry in and see what everyone is talking about.. before it is too late!” —- Yep, people are talking… about reductions. On the back it says:
“Homes like these with prices like this won’t last forever!” —- Because we are reducing next week….PD
ParticipantWow, I appear to have made a statement with which Perry agrees and JG disagrees. Does that qualify me as a free thinker now? 🙂
PD
ParticipantGeez, Perry, you can’t really think that miltary folks are a bunch of androids. When you and your friend are having a conversation, does his skin gradually turn from green to human color?
For those of you who don’t get it, Data on Star Trek had green skin.

Participantkristinejm, that is some list. Hunting down every Democrat who served and every Republican who did not is really something. How about a complete list instead of one you cherry picked?
Deadzone, nice insult to military folks.
How do military people feel about serving under Bush? Based on the people I know, most of them like it a thousand times better than serving under Bill Clinton (please note that these are people that I know and do not represent all military personnel). I say most because I do know one officer who admits to being a Democrat.
I think military service is an excellent experience and should be encouraged. In fact, I am a fan of conscription (that will set the chickens squawking). Further, I think military service should be a requirement for the office of President of the United States. Anyone who is Commander in Chief of our armed forces should have experience serving.

ParticipantI agree that the number one reason people enlist is for the money and educational benefits. According to Kerry, however, they enlist because they are too stupid for anything else. Big difference.
PD
ParticipantActually, I do think that his comment will persuade some not to enlist. Recruitment is currently a challenge for the military and his comment may very well have a negative impact. However, it may have no impact if nobody ever gives any weight to anything Kerry says. After all, he was one of those stupid people who served.

ParticipantKerry just spit in the eye of all service members, current, past and future. This guy wants to be Commander in Chief? Wow, nothing like serving under someone who thinks the only reason you are in the military is because you can’t do anything else. I wonder if he feels the same about his own military service?
During the 15+ years my husband has been a Marine, he has worked with many hundreds of incredible, hard-charging Devil Dogs. These guys are a hard working, talented bunch.
Attack policy all you want, Kerry, but denigrating the fine men and women who stand ready to defend this county is a low down, despicable act.
Even if you do not agree with our current military action, it behooves us all to remember that our service members are there to defend us against ANY threat that may materialize. The future is unknown. Who knows what kind of national threat lies in our future. In addition to other issues, Kerry just struck an irresponsible blow to recruitment, which will have a negative impact on national readiness.
As for the fact that it garnered him media attention, I agree that it did so. If this was a media ploy, then it highlights Kerry as a man willing to say anything, hurt the country and belittle anyone in an attempt get attention.

ParticipantAre you taking inflation into account?
I’m a big RE bear but 1998 seems to be too big of a drop. My former house was worth about 250k in 1998 and it is worth 775k today. That is over a 65% drop. I think we will be seeing 2002 prices again and may go as low as 2000 prices.

ParticipantThis thread is about the auto industry. The GDP issue is secondary. PS, did you read the link?
PD
ParticipantZillow makes information available to the consumer. The only people hurt by zillow are those people (realtors, etc) who used to have a lock on information.
PD
ParticipantI think we will have negative GDP in the next quarter and that it will be negative for at least three quarters.
PD
ParticipantI was not quitting the conversation. I was merely making an observation. This is a real estate forum and I think it very possible that threads like this might drive people away.
PD
ParticipantI appear to be “frustrated” and “uncomfortable.” Please explain to me how my analytical comment about a possible link between this thread and reduced posting projected these emotions.
