Participantpsssst, TG….it’s not 2006 all over again, it’s just the result of inflation.

ParticipantAnd for the record, Pat and Oscars reopened at the pond, so how bad could it be?

http://gawker.com/5847344/what-everyone-is-too-polite-to-say-about-steve-jobs%5B/quote%5DExcellent article.
“Apple’s success has been built literally on the backs of Chinese workers, many of them children and all of them enduring long shifts and the specter of brutal penalties for mistakes. And, for all his talk of enabling individual expression, Jobs imposed paranoid rules that centralized control of who could say what on his devices and in his company.”

ParticipantOnly time will tell with regard to Steve Job’s legacy.
Here’s a picture of an Apple Chinese worker. Remind you of anything?

ParticipantI do like Morgan Hill, the problem is that it’s not a part of Temecula and unincorporated. I’d rather be in the actual city and the benefits that go along with being part of the city.
All other things being equal, I’d lean towards Paseo del Sol since it’s in central Temecula. Particularly if you have kids.

Participant
To be frank, I’m not sure you understand what a “redneck” really is.
You just had to go there, and by the way I do know what a Redneck is. You are a redneck if:
You think “loading the dishwasher” means getting your wife drunk.
You think a subdivision is part of a math problem.
People hear your car a long time before they see it.
The primary color of your car is bondo.
and my favorite one:
If the fifth grade is referred to as “your senior year,”
Jeff Foxworthy – thank you.

Participant
Don’t mind paramount – he’s just Temecula’s Eeyore.

Thank the Good Lord for Google.
But just to prove that I’m not an Eeyore, I have a south Temecula restaurant recommendation. Now I just happened to stumble upon this establishment just last week; it’s over by KFC and just to the east of Henry’s by La Cocina (off of Temecula Parkway). It’s called Marisco El Cuate – it’s an exceptional Mexican Seafood restaurant.
It almost looks closed from the front due to a white window covering; once inside the atmosphere is very pleasant and the food is inspired IMO.
Suggestion: Ceviche/Fish Tacos, Rice and Beans with a Cold Corona. Life is good!
Price: $$

ParticipantDespite all of that – Temecula, aka Rednecula, is a redneck republic. Nothing wrong with that – like the saying goes – it is what it is.

Participant
I know you are a local. You have posted for years about what a terrible place Temecula is. Why are you still here?
That is simply not true.
I love Temecula, I fought hard to stop the quarry for example. I fought hard to get the hospital built (even though my contribution was small).
I work every week to keep my hood safe and clean.
I volunteer at the schools, scouts and I’m at the sports park every weekend cheering our soccer team.
I posted hard hitting videos about how Temecula is getting fleeced by the City Manager who makes more than the President of the United States.
I’m helping to establish term limits for the city council.
I plan to spend the rest of my life in Temecula – and feel fortunate to live here.
Temecula: One of the safest cities in the United States!

Participant
Morgan Hill is unincorporated.
Re: Rednecks in Morgan Hill – don’t judge that one by the lifted truck. Paramount, spend some time actually getting to know the locals and you will find that most of the residents in Morgan Hill, as well as TG and I, are not rednecks, have significant academic and professional credentials, and still drive trucks, but also own foreign cars.
I am involved in this community and the HOA, I am acquainted with many people in Morgan Hill, and I find your ongoing stereotype tiring and inaccurate.
Get to know the locals? You must be joking.
Oh no I get it, sounds like a phony Morgan Hill culture may be developing (or has developed) whereby they consider themselves a Thousand Points of Light overlooking the Gentiles.
I swear, it never ends…
paramount
Participant
Orange County and 4S type demographic transplants seem to gravitate to morgan. I kinda like it because it has a low ratio of monster trucks, but the hoa places tend to be nicer and stay nicer up here because the dirt people avoid them because of the restrictions on their toys so that’s not unique to morgan.
Temecula is loaded with rednecks (IMO) and you will not escape that fact by moving to Morgan Hill.
Sooner or later you’ll have to visit Ralph’s and you will encounter the rednecks and their lifted redneck trucks.
By the way, is Morgan Hill actually part of Temecula now or is it still an unincorporated area of Riverside County?

ParticipantI do like that area, and the houses seem nice. And now that the quarry is all but done, I’d say go for it.

I’m a political atheist and more or less agree with earlyretirement. For some strange reason I chuckled when I got to the punchline though.

ParticipantGeorge Bush, Queen Elizabeth and Vladimir Putin all died and went to hell.
While there, they spied a red phone and asked what the phone was for.
The devil told them it was for calling back to Earth.
Putin asked to call Russia and talked for 5 minutes. When he was finished,
the devil informed him that the cost was ONE million dollars, so Putin wrote
him a check.Next, Queen Elizabeth called England and talked for 30 minutes. When she was
finished the devil informed her that the cost was SIX million dollars, so
she wrote him a check. Finally George Bush got his turn and talked for 4 hours. When he was
finished the devil informed him that the cost was $5.00.When Putin heard this he went ballistic and asked the devil why Bush got to
call the USA so cheaply. The devil smiled and replied: *”Since Obama took over, the country has gone
to hell, so it’s a local call.* -
