Participant2 Story: I feel more secure sleeping on the 2nd floor.
Actually, I am really searching for a 3 story house.

ParticipantAs far as huge SUV’s go, I have a Ford Excursion and I love it – even with $3.50 gas.
Reasons: I have a PUP camper and the Excursion is perfect for towing and bringing all of our stuff along without breaking a sweat.
Also, if you drive a small car in So. Cal. basically you get no respect – not the case in the Excursion. Very low stress driving.
Safety: I will always drive the safest vehicle I can afford to drive (or what I think is the safest vehicle), I don’t care what gas costs. I do care about other peoples safety very much, but at the end of the day my primary job is to protect my family – and that’s what I’ll do. Of course I don’t drive it all of the time, but it is our main family vehicle.
Global warming: I am all for reducing pollution and I do carpool to work (with 3 other riders, 4 in total) nearly everyday. But it’s all irrelevant to you if your dead, after getting in an accident in your eco car.
In general, the heavier the vehicle the safer it is.

ParticipantI try to stay away from the “feel” stuff, but being able to look into your neighbors bedroom is pretty typical in So. Cal.
The trick is not to do it.
Personally, I don’t want a big lot – more water and more yard work.
