ParticipantI think this is a bad place to ask such a question due to the high number of phony San Diego snobs who “contribute” to this forum.
IMO and based on my experience, Temecula is a great place to raise a family. In general Temecula has very good schools, great Fire and Police Departments and other support services.
Temecula is a well run city, period. It’s not perfect, but pretty close.
I feel very privledged to live in Temecula.
Does Temecula have crime? Yes, unfortunately – much of it from people that do not live in Temecula. I’ll guarantee you this – while I do consider the Temecula police department fair – most citizens in Temecula (and the police department) will not put up with a whole lot of BS.
Long time Temecula resident.

ParticipantActually, the government is also largely responsible for the economic train wreck as well.
Yes, public employees are tax payers but by and large they are overhead and a burden from an economic perspective.
A public employee paying tax is not that helpful since they are paid from tax revenue anyway (or phony monopoly money). In fact, I believe some years ago many federal gov’t didn’t pay federal income tax directly – what’s the point?
Gov’t workers in the State of California are in no small way bankrupting the state. Ofcourse, part of the reason we have so many state (and local) gov’t workers is also because of our socialist legislature.
