And, yes, you are so right: Scarlet cleaned my clock.
It’s good that you have finally admitted that Allan.
A tip of the hat to ye my friend. 🙂
I drove a 1968 Black, Chevy Impala coupe. Big block 427 with a four speed Hurst shifter and slotted steel Corvette wheels. A real sleeper. If I knew then what I know now….well, woulda, shoulda, coulda…..
Thank you for giving me another opportunity to remind folks to take the time to ask Jeff Bridges to give up the Hyundai voice-overs and return to his roots.
It worked with Bruce Springsteen’s Wal Mart debacle, it could work with Jeff Bridges.
Here is the link to his site to do your small part to try and suppress the unfettered and unfair advancement of yet another imported automobile.

It’s not protectionism or whining or socialism, etc.
It’s just good, common sense.
HIE-YUN-DIE does NOT rhyme with Sunday. 😉

If it were me, I’d say…Fvck all the baby boomersWhy I’m still here?…….
…..I’ll let you in on a secret. Much of what you say here or anywhere will go in one ear and out the other…
flu:
After all this time you still have to ask me why I am here ?
If you haven’t noticed, it’s always at the top of the page.
But since you have to keep asking I will reiterate:
I have been really bummed out that one of my favorite movie actors has sold out and is making these Hyundai commercials.
As the dialogue ratchets up over supporting our country and buying American cars again, I feel it’s time for Jeff Bridges to resign from the Hyundai commercials and make a public pro-American statement. I think Jeff is a great person and he surely has a lot of influence over his many fans. He could set an excellent example.
Respectfully ask Jeff Bridges to take a cue from Bruce Springsteen’s Wal Mart fiasco and junk the Hyundai ads.

Well, you won. It’s official.

Ole buddy, ole chum….
I thought you admitted defeat on this post long ago and slunk away in embarrassment ?
Did you just come back to engage in some childish name calling ?
‘Twas Scarlett/Rt. 66 that thoroughly and methodically picked apart your posts here and left you in the dust.
And after all this time you haven’t paid attention to the website I have been directing you too ? That’s not very nice. Here it is again:

At least make yourself useful while you’re here.
Go there and ask Jeff Bridges (in a nice way now) to respectfully refrain from any more Hyundai ads and dance with the party that brung him.
There are a lot of American blue collar jobs on the line.

Why all the anger and why are you still here ? Did you sober up from your character-revealing Dr Seuss episode ?
Your point of view on this post has been thoroughly picked apart, debunked, vilified and destroyed by Scarlet/Rt. 66. It is all well documented in the preceding pages.
You have no credibility on this post any longer. You have proven here that you are part of the problem and have no desire to do anything but trash American cars, unions and blue collar workers.
I haven’t asked for a boycott of any or all foreign goods. None of my posts here solicit government handouts. I’ve never weighed in on any of the recent bailouts.
While you have gone off on fifty seven unrelated rants, I have tried to stay focused on one goal.
I have endeavored to come up with a simple solution that everyday Americans can have a shot at achieving without taking too much time from their busy lives. It’s a possible tactic to keep history from repeating itself and allowing more imported brands to get a foot hold here like the Japanese were wisely able to do in the 70’s while everyone, including GM, was asleep at the wheel.
Jeff Bridges, handsome, talented, successful and deservedly wealthy American actor has been shilling for Korean car company Hyundai on TV and radio for quite some time now.
And Hyundai’s sales keep climbing. I would like to put a dent in those numbers but I need your help.
Why don’t you direct your anger towards something that might have a chance of making a constructive change towards leveling the playing field for what’s left of the American auto industry.

It worked with Bruce Springsteen when his fans called him out for supporting the union busting Wal Mart. The world didn’t come to and end. The Chinese didn’t start boycotting what little goods they buy from us. Korea didn’t stop buying their planes from Boeing. Sadly, Wal Mart survived and is still here, bigger than ever.
Go ahead. Click your mouse on the link and be heard. Oh just admit it. You know you really want to. It’ll make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Ask Jeff Bridges to dump Hyundai and come back to play for the home team.

Just a side bar: Jeff Bridges was co-star in the 1974 movie Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, which featured a beautiful 1973 Pontiac Trans Am. He has been in over 70 movies in his lifetime.
