Participant
One more place to check out is Del Mar Workout on Jimmy Durante Blvd…I haven’t been there recently, but it’s been renovated within the last couple years and my friends like it and think it’s a nice, low-key place.
I work out there. I’ll agree that it is laid-back and low key…and I pay $28/month. That was a 3-year contract 4 years ago, and my dues haven’t gone up. PAC IIRC is HUGELY expensive (something like $600 initiation and $120/month) but judging by your posts I suspect cost isn’t an issue here? π
Regarding DMWO: The weight room is small and there is at least one of everything (mostly only one of everything). I only do weights and I very rarely have to wait at all to use equipment (mornings 7am). People are generally polite and courteous in the rare instance that I need to work in sets.
The only draw-back (now passed I hope) is the aforementioned renovations took a VERY long time, on the order of months. They renovated a few years ago and brought in new equipment, then this past year there was a structural problem with one of the upstairs floors that took 6-8 months to fix, at the expense of the weight room. So they don’t have a wonderful track record with renovations, but things are back up to speed now.

ParticipantThe invisible hand theory is going to work, but just not the way 99% of Americans think it will.
It is time for the cargo-cultists to stop praying for technological salvation to be magically bestowed upon us from on high. Reality will dictate our transportation options in the future.

ParticipantThis on top of the wars we fight and the taxes we pay is just an unbearable act and under no justification is it patriotic.
Fixed it for you.
Props for the Hank Rollins quote.
