Things are suppressed, lies are told, symptoms are exaggerated or mis-attributed as to their origins. That’s social engineering. NPR is big on this.
NotCrankyParticipantGay marriage and double male or double female or male head of households with children are perhaps more of an experiment than a change. We need more generations than just yours and mine to determine if it is a lasting change. My guess is that it is totally a situational outcome , that is quite possibly temporary and isolated in this place and time.
Baby boomers did not create greed. Moses new about it. The cult of materialism also can also swing.

NPR is in on the social engineering. Lots of millenials hate it, and the likes of SJW’s like Hillary.A more serious factor is that the number of stay at home dads has doubled since the 70’s and even in duel income houses the female could be more qualified as the bread winner. This changes things more than fads. Females on combat ships?
I don’t know if there is any social engineering going on regarding gender roles/norms. To me it seems like we are just moving to a more equal society.
Also don’t understand why an increase of stay at home dads would be considered serious? Are fathers not able to do the things a stay at home mother can do? Also not sure how this ties into females on combat ships? Also don’t understand what your point is…are you being sexist saying that women do not belong on combat ships? If anything, wouldn’t it be better if women were bread winners, so men could go out to sea and fight while their wives are making money to feed the family and keeping America’s companies running?
SAHDadism, is not “serious” as in bad, but as in affecting or being an effect of social norms changing more than someone cross dressing. Same thing for women on combat ships.
This guy doesn’t change anything compared to women being on combat ships, or heaven forbid, being president of a violent nation.

I think men and women should die in war equally. Why should women play it safe and stay home and work? Oh yes, men are still more disposable, now that is sexist and archaic.

npr says gender norms are out 4 millenials…I agree in terms of ways to self-express, mixing up norms is a way to get yourself noticed. Does it mean that all millenials are out there dressing drag to display their artistic side? I would say a very small percentage because once it becomes a part of popular culture it loses value. My sister dressed goth in middle school and older kids dressed like Boy George. Clothing and dress has always been an outlet for self expression…especially for adolescents.
NotCrankyParticipantScaredy, you do know that the ADL is behind this gender fluidity idea? In learning about that I also learned that the notion and creation of “hate crime” was pushed through by same group. Could be wrong but that’s how I read it.
Hate crime is also something that just doesn’t compute for me, like gender fluidity to you.
I kind of get gender fluidity. Personality and life experience and cultural expectations, stuff like that can most obviously strongly affect what people adjust well to, or don’t , at least as much as birth gender. I mean to go as far as what we do, no gender stereo types needed. But I think it actually means something closer to being male for a while and then female for a while, which is pretty funny. I heard one kid say he watched some movie and was gay for two weeks afterwards. Kind of makes sense. Why else would we prohibit boys from wearing pink?
Anyway, I have looked online at the ADL program that kids are getting across this great nation. It’s called No Room for Hate. Is basically marketed as sensitivity training. I think there are federal requirements to be met by the schools, but I am not sure. I have the glossary of terms and a loaded word search puzzle from the a seminar conducted at the La Jolla Jewish Community center for my son’s middle school.
Needless to say, I think the program is way over the top and has elements of programming and even grooming of children as much as taming their tendencies to abuse others for their differences. By grooming , I mean in the sexual context and as well as for winning their hearts and minds for political reasons.

Bunch of holier than thou type liberals posting on Facebook and going off on Public Radio, but failing to understand or delve into the fact that women say stuff like “if it were me, I would have cut his dick off” and ” hang him by his balls” and “kick him in the balls” “shove a stick up his ……
Trump actually said it and the entire nation has now heard him say it.
You speculate that Hillary may have said it based on some lame generalization you make about all women.
In your world, the two are equiva
The problem with you saying really stupid stuff like that here is that you are not a conservative talk radio host and the audience here is not the bunch of dumb fucks that have all of their radio presets tuned to conservative talk radio.
Of course you won’t understand how your assertion fails any test of logic.
Now be a good little patriotic Trump supporter, and call us all “liberals” (or “libtards” if you want to think you are being clever…)
Triggered much?
If you need to pout, you can post the umpteenth thousand Benghazi post on freerepublic.
I remember about a decade ago the republicans kind of reeled in NPR, now with trump nobody wants to. Disgusting journalism these days , seems dangerous to me. Not good for society.

NotCrankyParticipantInteresting stuff here.
NotCrankyParticipantI think that test sucks The website is ugly. Did they have to use so much purple ?And really, like I am going to put my email in there to take the stupid thing. I am sorry even looked at this thread. WTF.

I wonder though if it is just a fad, and one day I will look back and see shag carpet.
Fad or timeless?
Are the chairs made out of resin? They look like some I have seen at my gym. Nicest plastic furniture I have ever seen.
Anyway the table is real wood and looks nice. Would be proud to have it in my house forever. Unless it’s made of soft wood. Some pines are hard enough but not most and that looks like pine to me.
NotCrankyParticipantI believe the bubble before this big last crash officially took SD housing down only 17%.. However there were plenty of houses down much much more. So, while the next downturn may not look to be a set up for large overall decline , it may offer plenty of opportunities in certain areas.
I don’t have any ideas on where, haven’t been thinking about it , but there will be good buying opportunities.
If it is blue collar areas , would piggs buy? Which investors would?
If it were Eastlake or Santee( just 15minutes from La jolla shores).NotCrankyParticipantSounds like the OP can afford to buy a good username now.
