Wow, you’re missing the forest for the trees. Stalin would have loved you.Obama is the quintessential demagogue.
The only difference between Newt and Obama is that Obama has charisma. They’re the same guy, just opposite sides of the political coin.
I find it interesting that certain folks on the right equate Obama to Stalin or Hitler.
Quantitatively and qualitatively, Obama is superior to Gingrich in every way. It takes intelligence to speak well and develop charisma. You need good knowledge of vocabulary and intelligence to form good speech on the fly.
Character wise, Gingrich is porky-pig evangelical trailer-trash in every way — a person who lets his stomach hang out, his big mouth blabber away, and can’t keep his dick in his pants. Then, of course he calls for repentance and redemption.
Come to think of it, perhaps Gingrich is similar to Barney Frank on the opposite site. Barney Frank is better in that he’s not a bible thumper and he’s a live-and-let-live kinda guy.
LOL, you still don’t see the trees.
They both play the game the same way.
Which you like is just a matter of which devil you choose, but either will sell you out in a second.
As for a minor nit, I didn’t equate Obama to Stalin, you made that connection. I said Stalin would have loved your blindness to the demagoguery of your chosen leader allow you to be played.
Face facts, Obama played the masses.

Participant
”Boring” as my “informational posts” might be, FSD, I believe that if someone can’t competently discuss the “nitty-gritty” of reality here re: public pensions, then STFU.
You mean the nitty gritty like the State or County paying the employee share of the retirement contribution? You know, such that the employee doesn’t actually contribute to the plan such as the prison guards…

Participant
Presenting yourself in an attractive way is not the same as getting reelected by pandering to people’s weaknesses. That’s smart political strategy but it lacks strength of character.
Or have you already forgotten that there are consequences to losing an election…

ParticipantThe quake happened at 2:46PM local time.
The wave travels at 500 MPH.
So for Tokyo, the time was half hour from quake to landfall.
For the places seen destroyed, the quake was 80 miles off the coast. For San Diego, think Catalina island.
So Sendai would have been hit in under 10 minutes of the quake.
10 minutes…
–edit—I stand corrected, apparently time lag for nearest points was 10-30 minutes. Sendai airport, (distance unknown) was 1 hour.
The wave slows to approximately 45MPH with shorefall.

ParticipantIt’s not the tire noise that wears.
It’s the mufflers, or lack there of for every wannabe monster truck, street racers or weekend accountant harley rider.
The other factor is air. I used to live two blocks from a major freeway. Because of the road position, the noise with windows open was fine. During the day you didn’t hear it, at night, traffic was light enough you didn’t notice it but…
The big but, pollution. We had white tile counters. Whenever I went to wipe the dust from the counter, big mistake, it smears as a greasy black mess. It’s not dust. It’s a combination, oil, rubber, you name it, it’s in the air constantly… When you have to chronically use 409 to remove the ‘dust’ from the kitchen counter you’ll realize the downside of being by a freeway. If you always keep the windows closed you may live comfortably in oblivion unless you have kids, which will be at increased risk for asthma.
