So to the original poster, you’re not making twice the median household for your area, you’re just making the median income and yes, you’re living beyond your means. $90,000 per annum is not that much in San Diego.

ParticipantMaking a 150K – 200K household income is not that hard and it’s pretty common among my circle of friends. Though I’m in my mid 30’s and most of my friends are in that same age group too. Having that kind of income and a saving account with considerable balance does not necessarily go together. Most (if not all) of my friends (me included) own their home and bought before 2001.
I’m Asian, and most of my friends are Engineers so we’re probably an exception.
