Hi All,

Here are the dimensions of the kitchen and bathroom

Kitchen– 15 x 12 (completely new with new tiles)
Bathroom 1– 6 x 8 (keep toilet and bath tub (resurface?), new cabinet/sink/granite top, new tiles)
Bathroom 2– 7 x 9 (keep toilet and bath tub (resurface?), new cabinet/sink/granite top, new tiles)

Here are my estimates based on your recommendations and some research:
Kitchen– $17k (including appliances)
bathroom 1– $4k
bathroom 2– $4k

Do you think these numbers are reasonable? I think $25k is all we could afford.

My husband wants to be in Rachno Penasquitos because of the schools and lower property crimes. Since we can spend up to $480k, I think we can get some thing decent in Rancho Penasquitos or at least North West of Mira Mesa.

My husband wants to be in Rachno Penasquitos because of the schools and lower property crimes. Since we can spend up to $480k, I think we can get some thing decent in Rancho Penasquitos or at least North West of Mira Mesa.

Mira Mesa. I can’t get specific but below are the two closed sales that convinced me to look again:

1. Mira Mesa but in a nicer area. Price is $25k lower. Nice canyon view which I love, kitchen upgraded.

2. Rancho Penasquitos. Slightly higher than mine but I like the schools and neighborhood.

I am thinking that with the current direction of the market. I can get either a nice Rancho Penasquitos house or nice Mira Mesa house with a budget of $440-$480.

Thank you. I will call my realtor to see if I can cancel the deposit check. I can’t believe how fast the market has fallen lately. I saw three closed deals yesterday and today (of comparable houses) that are easily $30k to $40k less than mine.
