    There are no apparent fundamentals to justify that rents should go up other than the fact that it is the start of a new year and thus used as a pretext to raise rents.

    Good, I want everyone to abuse loans so that very few loans are proffered. That way us cash buyers can corner the market.

    I think I will take this as gospel and assume the bottom will occur in 2012. By then my assets will be well into the 7 digits and I will easily be able to pay cash for an inflation adjusted correctly priced home. Now I can relax while I rent. The assumption appears reasonable and just as good as any other assumption.
