Here’s what our solar produced, 36.6kWh
Peak Power: 4.87kW at 1:00 PM
Latest Power: 7W at 7:45 PM
That’s enough juice to run our AC for over 7 hours straight. The only time there was a dip was around noon, must have been some clouds hanging around.moneymakerParticipantI learned a long time ago that we gave nukes to Israel back in the 60’s, now that is scary. Does it detour the Palestinians? Guess not. But a recipe for eventual disaster in my opinion. It’s never good to have nukes where turmoil exists!
moneymakerParticipantI don’t think we will see 12,500 in the next 12 months either. I’m just looking for a 10% or so correction, then when I buy back in I will be ahead 10%. I guess you could say I’m shorting the market with no expiration date.
moneymakerParticipantYes, when I sold my stock on Monday, that is probably why the market went down Monday. Just kidding! I’m just going by my gut feeling that there will be a gradual slide down in the market. I do plan on buying back in later this year, probably in late December when people are foolishly selling their losers to take the tax write off.
moneymakerParticipantYes I think I did do something stupid like get out at 10500 and then back in, in the 11000’s. But all in all I’m actually quite happy with 10.7% annually over the last 5 years. This year was like 20.7% or so. Perhaps now is a good time to get out. Ok, I’m out. On the sidelines with lots of company looks like. There’s $129 Billion in the money market I bought.
moneymakerParticipantI heard it was at 31,000 ft. which is normal for civilian aircraft. I guess there is no safe altitude, no wonder so many people are afraid to fly these days. Do you think the pilot had any idea what was about to happen, in other words would the black box give any more clues.
moneymakerParticipantKarma says if you buy a more expensive watch than your boss has you will be laid off within the year! Kinda goes along with letting boss win in golf! I personally have a Pathfinder 3043 that I like a lot but got for a good price, like half off, just a little over $100.
moneymakerParticipant
Well they do know that if they manage to elude border patrol, there is very little chance they will ever be deported and they will be able to live and work in relative peace.
They also know that if they have a child born here, that baby will be instant US citizen and through their baby they will start qualifying for welfare.
Additionally, they do know there was a mass amnesty in the 1980s, and politically there is push for it again (AKA “immigration reform”) so they have reasonable hope and expectation that if they stay here long enough, they will eventually be granted citizenship.
I think the way it works is they come across, they get caught, they get processed, they get released here in the US,they don’t show up for court and then stay here as long as they are never arrested again.
moneymakerParticipantI’d say Poway if being near the water is not important, or Encinitas if it is (will have to give up sq.ft. or acreage).
moneymakerParticipantSo spdrun when you say done, you mean fed will keep buying $50 Billion a month forever. What is their “normal” bond buying? Pre-2008. Nice article SD Squatter, didn’t read the whole thing but liked the graphs.
moneymakerParticipantI like what Robert Schiller had to say.
moneymakerParticipantOn average earnings are down, on average stock prices are up, I would call this dangerous! I’m thinking bubble, but to make money shorting would be very difficult or very lucky. Look how difficult is was for Bill Ackman to short Herbal Life, and he is a professional. Any business can be propped up, that is the nature of the stock market.
moneymakerParticipantI have only one response to global warming “black body radiation”. That’s essentially what the earth is, in equilibrium. Without the atmosphere that keeps the planet warmer the oceans would be a heck of a lot colder. I’m in favor of global warming if it will give us ocean temperatures like Hawaii has.
moneymakerParticipantI now know why the batteries swell, just wondering how widespread the problem seems to be. I’m guessing spdrun that you leave your laptop connected to AC power all the time. I think the battery swelling issue is related to the electronic device trickling charge to battery instead of shutting off the charging sytem entirely. I leave my laptop plugged in always, it has Li-ion battery and has never had a problem. I guess HP is smarter than Samsung in this regard.
