That thread has people complaining about their rates more than doubling! I remember when I signed up in 97 they said rates could rise, slowly, but almost never do. I upgraded once to an Sport membership and so pay more but haven’t since then.
It looks like they can raise our rates 5% a year. It might be time to join the YMCA.
Josh
The 5% raise is for monthly dues and started in 2006.
moneymakerParticipantMy contract is from January 2005 and explicitly states
3(c) If you have a prepaid membership,24 Hour will not increase your Guaranteed Annual Renewal Amount on the front page of this Agreement, so long as you remain a member in good standing.
The only mention of 3% increases is for monthly dues, and can only be increased once per year.
3(g)states that a copy of the contract can be requested for a $10 fee.
moneymakerParticipantI have the contract and it explicitly states the rate is $20 per year guaranteed and cannot be broken. Not being a lawyer I would think the “not be broken” part would be equally binding. No I haven’t received my increase yet so maybe I will be one of the few that doesn’t get the increase.
moneymakerParticipantI get 5 or 6 six weeks a year which I believe is generous, my gripe with my PTO system at work is you only get 5 sick days a year, after that you are generating occurences, after 3 occurences you can in theory be fired, though I don’t know of anybody that was. The problem with this system is you get sick people coming in to work because they have used their allotted sick time already. They also don’t allow any carry over from year to year which everybody else I know is allowed to do up to a certain amount usually like 240 hours or so.
moneymakerParticipantMegyn Kelly is a fox and I hope Trump’s next ex moves here to San Diego, maybe it will increase real estate values.
moneymakerParticipantSaw a policeman just the other day who seemed to be harassing a homeless person at a freeway off ramp. I really wish I had time to stick around and observe as I’m pretty confident that he was not going to be arrested, just harassed.
moneymakerParticipantI concur about 300 ft. or higher, personally I’m at 460 ft.
All the talk about oceans rising yet I’ve been going to the ocean now for over 45 years and it still looks the same to me so I don’t think the threat is imminent.moneymakerParticipantSo Shoveler how does SLV work do they buy actual silver?
moneymakerParticipantI agree .25 to .75 would be normal and usually get a .25 break when buying 100 oz. or more but $1.75 on 100 oz. seems way too high to me. I can buy online for around $1 but think I’ll check out SLV etf instead.
moneymakerParticipantYeah it would probably be ’08 all over again if it gets to that level. While soaking in the sun though I got to thinking-most retailers mark their stuff up 100% so I guess 12.77% isn’t too bad, last time I bought at the same place though it was $1 over spot and I thought that was too high.
moneymakerParticipantWas it you didn’t qualify or you just didn’t get the rate you wanted? If you didn’t qualify then shame on you and the agent for looking and offering on a house you couldn’t afford, if this is your first house then I would put more blame on the agent for not pre-qualifying you first. I agree that you should not pay for the termite however, we got a free termite on our place when the previous buyer backed out, I have no idea who actually paid for it however.
moneymakerParticipantAC router then if you need even more distance go with an extender. I use a Netgear Nighthawk for my wifi and the metal flashing for my security cameras.
moneymakerParticipantspdrun if you have your phone on while you are driving, particularly an android phone then THEY KNOW WHERE YOU ARE ALL THE TIME! I love the elevator music touch that google maps does when you sit in the car in one spot too long.
moneymakerParticipantActually just found out our san diego paper is printed in LA and that is why it’s been late lately. Lucky for me I am home the days it is delivered so it gets here when it gets here. I would say it’s the days I don’t work but that would not be true as I usually work more when I’m home than when I go to work. P.S.-Since when is Platinum cheaper than Gold? Guess I never noticed since I haven’t bought Platinum in over 25 years.
