The seller would be better off selling the property after bankruptcy is final, unless they are risk of losing the property before bankruptcy is finalized. If it is held as joint tenancy then it could be the father and creditors that end up owning the house which complicates things. I guess it depends on how much equity they have and if the father still wants to live there. If there is little equity then I doubt the creditors would be interested in owning part of it.
moneymakerParticipantAbsolutely! Just not sure when or by how much, you know, the details! I’m out of silver too, but will not hesitate to get back in on a dip. That may not happen and I will be glad to walk away with 700 times what the bank pays on my checking/savings. It’s a no-brainer these days to milk the market I think.
moneymakerParticipantHow is the title held? Personally I would wait for the bankruptcy to be final.
moneymakerParticipantPretty good i must say. Since I don’t worry about lost opportunity, just the bottom line it works, just don’t tell my Uncle.
moneymakerParticipantRunning is a great way to burn calories and weight lifting is good for boosting metabolism. While at Costco the other day I noticed while walking in that they have “running gloves”, I had to do a double take, why would one need gloves to go running? Maybe if it was freezing out I guess.
moneymakerParticipantI think this topic has the potential to run forever, to get the intro pricing you generally have to have not been a customer for 30 days, in many areas I have heard DSL is not available, they, ATT, force you into Uverse instead. With digital only right around the corner many will lose those extra TV’s unless they are willing to pay for an additional box. Most people have or will drop the landline. Cox is doing bundling with their HomeLife security product. I guess it’s as complicated or as simple as you want it to be. Just remember everything is negotiable!
moneymakerParticipantThere is always lag. I remember gas rationing in the 70’s and I’m thinking there was a recession of some sort then. My brother bought his house in 1993 and rates then were around 7% which I thought were high but was really close to normal. My predictions are mostly off because I underestimate the lag, but you are right about the low/high thing. Right now house prices are high and interest rates are very low.
moneymakerParticipantNice chart Rich, in 1986 interest rates were very high, in 1997 there were massive layoffs from government contractors, the 2006 bubble was from fog loans, 2009 and 2012 could be called dead cat bounces, current highs are due to low interest rates. How easy it seems to explain stuff with hind sight. I think the recent dip could be because of Qualcomm or the fear of rates going up.
moneymakerParticipantMy mom is a hoarder and my wife borders on neat freak, so I’m thinking next door would be better than living here with us. Talked to her again today and she is going to get pre-approved, to be sure she can afford such a large house on her own. I know most people down size as they get older but she has so much stuff I think it will be easier to toss a lot of it after she is gone. Moving will force her to go through it at least. It’s a tough decision, so many pros and cons. She probably won’t use the pool but says she would use the jacuzzi attached to it. Hard to say how long before she will be needing live in help, have a neighbor who is in his mid 90’s who does fine.
moneymakerParticipantGoogle Fiber will be offering 3 different levels of service with the lowest one being internet only with speeds of 5M down and 1M up I believe. Similar to the slowest speeds cable offers which is still fast enough to stream HD. The price will be $300 for installation then free for 7 years after that. Can’t beat that right now, question is how long before available. I think all the telecommunications companies are going for contracts right now in order to slow competition and guard customer share.
moneymakerParticipantGood decision! I’m still trying to figure out how to get my motorcycle back in the garage. Much easier to not have to wait for it to cool before covering it. Just noticed the server time stamp is off an hour for CA, time to catch some rays.
moneymakerParticipantfrom July to Oct a 3.3% drop which is $16,000 for the average San Diego house. http://www.trulia.com/real_estate/San_Diego-California/market-trends/
Glad you are still checking in!moneymakerParticipantI don’t think labor is independent of capital, most people will not work for free so capital is often required to induce labor. Benjamin Franklin was one of the proponents of daylight savings time which makes him less of a man of intellect in my mind. Sorry Ben!
moneymakerParticipantBuy it if you have a place to park it, and keep your gas tanks full on the 2 bikes, it keeps condensation and crud out of the tanks.
