My job is only somewhat physical, akin to a plumber or electrician. For dinner tonight I had 2 heaping tablespoons of cottage cheese, 1 ear of sweet corn (with butter of course), and 1 margarita. I think it all boils down to metabolism as I’ve never had a weight problem before the age of 40. Now at 50+ I think my metabolism is slowing down , probably due to muscle mass loss from not hitting the gym like I used to.
moneymakerParticipantSpeaking of terrifying drives home, today I saw a drunk driver driving a Ford with Oregon plates, then not more than 5 minutes later saw a wheel fall off a trailer right in front of me on the 805 north, wheel kept right on going down the freeway I passed both the drunk and the wheel while keeping a close eye on both.
moneymakerParticipantThere is also http://www.homeaway.com
moneymakerParticipantNo it is not “too good to be true” but as a yelp user I find it hard to believe there are not more reviews on the place as it seems to be booking. Never used VRBO before but I have heard good things about it in general and the review I saw was 6 months after the stay which I find kinda strange.
moneymakerParticipantIsn’t this type of deal already available. Get a loan, then get a reverse mortgage. Oh maybe the reverse mortgage people want you to have more equity, right! Mobile home maybe for your client? I don’t really know about the reverse loan equity so if anyone else cares to chime in.
moneymakerParticipantAnyone care to post a current YSP chart, haven’t seen one in a long time.
moneymakerParticipantThank you spdrun I’ve got it on my answering machine now. Will find out how it works over the next 2 days. Does it matter how many times the phone rings first?
moneymakerParticipant“FlyerInHi” once your nieces mouse gets cancer give it to me and I will cure it!
moneymakerParticipantIf you look at the data in the article the last 3 cycles have been very different lengths so I will say I think it is very difficult to predict out 8 years. My guess is it will be less than that, I hope I am wrong however.
moneymakerParticipantIf you could live forever, would you want to? Even more importantly would you share your new found fountain of youth with others? I say for myself, yes and no.
April 14, 2016 at 12:33 PM in reply to: Would you drive a car that has been recalled for the Takata airbag? #796666moneymakerParticipantYes I would. Been driving a VW with airbag light on for some time now.
April 12, 2016 at 7:49 PM in reply to: Removing built in barbecue/counter outdoor patio area #796649moneymakerParticipantPut it on craigslist or post pics and see if any one wants it. Mt wife wants something like that and even though we have the space I’m not sure, I like the nice barbecue we have that is portable (although not really portable).
moneymakerParticipantI agree sdsurfer. I’m proud that I have greater than 50% equity after only 7 years, I’m proud I can pay my taxes this year without resorting to putting it on a credit card. I am also glad that all my cars are in running condition with no bad tires on them. Walked the dogs this morning and was somewhat shocked at finding 2 nice cars in the neighborhood with flat/old tires.
moneymakerParticipantyes the basic cost of medical care is exhorbitant, that is the real problem. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have coverage from work or if I lose coverage between now and when I turn 65.Definitely can’t afford to pay out of pocket as an individual these days. I guess the ACA requires coverage, does anybody know if there is Mexican insurance that is cheaper, since we live so close to the border? That would still leave the problem of emergency room visits and they are the worst as far as costs.
