If buying from the builder I would call it a negotiated buy out. Otherwise I might call it “trouble down the road”.

moneymakerParticipantI have a 2002 VW Jetta TDI, it is an automatic diesel that gets 40 MPG. I can buy diesel in Mexico for $2.20 a gallon, regular is $2.50. Why do I have to pay 30 cents a gallon more per gallon than regular gas up here in the States? If things get really insane I can dump peanut oil in it, about $5 a gallon @ Costco.

moneymakerParticipantIt is a well known comment that 2 can live together cheaper than 2 people living separately. So $250k for married is probably the same wealth as $150k alone.

moneymakerParticipantAdvice from a “novice”. Forget about Zillow as far as appraisal goes. The only use I’ve found for Zillow is looking at a picture and maybe getting an idea if the area/house is going up or down, usually down and by how much per month. Most people going through divorce just want out,so I suggest pay for a professional appraisal and then drop it by more each month than Zillow says it is going down by, how much more of course is up to you.
