ParticipantI know I’m better off financially than I was 10 years ago. Seems to me that in the last bubble burst prices dropped to below rent prices, now rents are rising up to monthly mortgages, so when will this one pop? When Trump gets elected? When wages drop? Even if rent=mortgage I still don’t want to be a move up buyer because of double property taxes. Time for some wine!

ParticipantYou could still sell it, just make the paid off MR a selling point, and adjust the price accordingly. In hindsight selling would probably also be hard this time of year. Most people are settled in a place unless changing jobs or family size.

ParticipantMultiple streams sounds great. Starting a brick and mortar business doesn’t sound like a good idea, unless it’s a beer brewery, that way one can stay liquid! Selling online is an easy thing for many but remember their is competition there too. I make a little money trading but that has gotten old and unpredictable lately, so the best way to have financial security for those over 50 is to probably save more, spend less. After reading through this thead the answer appears to be no, no jobs for you! Scaredy i’m not sure if the unemployed thing was directed to me or not, but no I’m employed,at least last time I checked I was.

ParticipantYes, retail is looking pretty bad, so unless there is a Santa Claus might not be a good year for them.

ParticipantWas it stock prices or house prices you are waiting to drop? My guess is stock first then housing. Ah but which one to buy, if you buy stock, can you then buy houses? Maybe housing stock?
OT: Just paid off my last credit card (had 0% on it but just thought I’d do it so I could post this) also just doubled my 401k contribution, now 12%, so other than the mortgage I’m debt free!moneymaker
ParticipantI like my bluetooth earpiece and won’t get a smart watch until it can connect to at least two phones simultaneously like my earpiece can.

ParticipantA few cameras might be appropriate as I don’t know if I would believe the teenage girls story or not, in any case cameras that record would have shed some light on the truth.

ParticipantAndroid does seem to do a lot of OS updates, just did 1 this morning, reminds me of Microsoft and their horde of patches. At least they are trying to fix it I guess.Time to go to the dentist for a cleaning, another thing I’m not keen about.

ParticipantWasn’t it the Samsung Note 7 that was recalled? I got the Samsung 7 the same day the Note 7 came out and it was tempting to upgrade, now I’m glad I didn’t.

ParticipantIs there a Groupon for floating? One of my “out of body” experiences was while laying on a tanning bed, I’m afraid I might not come back in a float tank!

ParticipantJust noticed that Cox has an advanced webmail login so i think I’ll try that for a little while and see how it goes.

ParticipantI did a cash out with LTV of 50%. I’m still a little confused as to my HELOC as I was under the impression it would be paid off along with the loan and I can see that it is not yet even though closing was 2 days ago. So maybe they will send me a big fat check and leave it up to me as to when it gets paid off. I’m fine with that if that is the case.I locked back in June. I communicated with 6 different people at E-lend and never had a feeling where i was in the process even though they do everything online. Their website only works with IE so Chrome will not work very well.

ParticipantGot my case at $6.99 a bottle, best investment I’ve made so far this month.

ParticipantDitto here treehugger. I’m pretty sure I went beyond the 60 day lock but still got a great rate with no penalties. Got 2.625% (APR 2.691%) on a 15 year but the closing company lost the check I gave them for the closing fees. Very drawn out with little to no communications unless I initiated, by the way I guess they finally found the check as it did clear 1 day before closing. So for those of you thinking about it google/yelp the companies first, I did it after the fact and found other people had similar issues. Will not recommend either company I dealt with although they did finally get it done I guess.
