ParticipantDidn’t know Arnold had a 1987 Wagoneer, interesting, I wonder if he would be willing to trade for my ’88 Wagoneer, after the mods are done of course. After all the ’88 Wagoneer was the official car of the ’88 Olympics. After reading the article I noticed it is over 2 years old. Asked one of the drivers for Jeep at the auto show if Jeep was considering coming out with a decent diesel engine, you know around 4 litre or so, he said no, how unfortunate. I think Brazil is making something like that and gas is only 28 cents a gallon down there, I think. http://www.scientificblogging.com/humboldt_fellow_and_science/blog/biodiesel_brazil_experience

ParticipantMost people don’t realize that Albuquerque is the same elevation as Denver, mile high. It is a nice place if you like artsy, eclectic, ocean beach type aura. Never lived there, but it does have a lot to offer certain types of people.
I think to find someplace cheap and nice you have to find somewhere newly discovered, Temecula? I don’t know, just throwing that out there. For me it’s all about family and the job, hence I’m grounded here in SD. Once one is retired and family scatterred then options for me open up quite a bit. Of course as one gets older stuff like arthritis kicks in, so I’ll just stay here I guess.January 6, 2010 at 8:34 PM in reply to: More land, lowering costs, where would you move here in the West? #499851moneymaker

ParticipantA little OT from the original post. Went to the car show this last week and I’ll have to say I was surprised @ how many humongous SUV type cars there were there. Is this what everyone wants? None of the cars impressed me, well except the ones out of my price range that is. The Tesla and the solar powered boat are novel and heading in the right direction, perhaps. The jeep ride was cool and the ladies were of course nice. All in all don’t think I’ll go to another one of these shows again, even the toyotas and other imports seemed to be making huge ass cars. Strangely Nissan seemed to be missing from the attendees. Drew ford seemed friendly when I purchased from them many years ago.
