Prices in all markets
Well thats good because at least I can get even better deal. But seriously I am planning this out way in advance to see what happens. It is still at least a year or two away and once I have made some trips to Dallas and Austin can make final choice. If by 2009/2010 prices are reasonable in San Diego that would be my first choice to stay put. But still 400k is a lot for even a 3 bedroom home when I can easily buy one for 120k in Texas.
mixxalotParticipantWhitewater
Wiill forever haunt the Clinton crime family.
mixxalotParticipantWow I knew that Clinton was the ultimate crime family. I guess when you are among the global ruling elite one can escape anything. My vote next year is going to Ron Paul and not Klinton.
mixxalotParticipant2012 Blood in the streets?
I am guessing in a few years the real blood letting will begin after all the ARM resets come to fruition. The FED just pumped in billions of fiat tokens into the system to slow it down a bit. I will be happy as a clam to actually see reality smack people in the face and a normal person who is prudent and has saved can actually buy a home in San Diego just like in the early 1990’s when the market last tanked. That will be cause for celebration!
mixxalotParticipant2012 will be a watershed date for housing
I will wait 2 more years. If prices are low enough I will be a modest place in San Diego. Else, I will move to a cheaper place like Texas and buy a nice place for less than 200k.
mixxalotParticipantGC threatened legal action against detractors.
What an idiot!!!
He was upset that posters emailed him about causing folks to take bad loans and lose money, etc. He was irate and I think he needs to take his medication again. George- take your qualudes!!! Get out of broadcasting and stop pushing real estate and bad loans.
mixxalotParticipantI do a mix of 75% stocks (10% international/emerging markets index funds/65% mid of S&P big, mid size, small cap index funds) and rest in bonds, REITS, treasury bills, cash reserves. I do it long term for retirement hopefully my asset allocation can weather the storm by diversification. It is aggressive but I have 30 years until retirement. I think the key is rebalance annually and have balance mix of investments.
mixxalotParticipantHow come prices have not dropped very fast?
With all the foreclosures I am amazed that prices are not falling either fast enough or far enough. Come on drop 200k-300k already on the overpriced shacks!
mixxalotParticipantAgreed or buy in a cheaper place like Texas.
I will buy in San Diego when it costs about same as rent until then no way jose. I hope prices drop another 100k to 200k on homes. That would be fantastic!!! Then we can shout at chowderhead on how much a liar and fool he really is.
He is gone- some dude named Chip replaced him recently on KOGO have you noticed?
mixxalotParticipantBan on booze will not work
I agree- by ban booze it will not solve the problem with PB and MB areas.
What they need are sting operations to crack down on the drug punks and also the landlords need to evict roudy tenants. That would help.
mixxalotParticipantReal careers versus OTJ fly by night pros
I agree- it takes hard work to become a real engineer, doctor, attorney or accountant or even a serious financial analyst the type that gets an MBA in Finance not a fly by night real estate school or car sales dirtbag. I worked hard for my degree at university.
mixxalotParticipantIf I had the millions to buy beach/ocean PB property
Then I sure as hell would not buy there but rather in a nicer beach area such as Encinitas or Solana Beach. Nicer people, no crackhead or tweaker ex-cons on the loose and mellow place. Plus I find the beaches cleaner and the area more scenic beauty. Thats my dream spot if I ever hit it big- an ocean front or overlook the ocean in Encinitas or Solana Beach or even Malibu Canyon. That would be mighty sweet!
I had fun a few times in PB when I first lived in San Diego but it got old quick with the insane crowds, drunks, gang fights on the beach and just not my thing anymore. At least Ocean Beach is more laid back and hippy. Never see fights breakout in mellow OB!
Just that the homes are falling apart and decrepit in Ocean Beach and Point Loma and who wants to pay a million bucks for a shack?
mixxalotParticipantWell I would say best to just have no booze then if it works
I hardly drink anyways and if it really did crack down on the criminals that would work. But I think the issue is more endemic with Mission Beach and Pacific Beach with gangs and drugs. It has always been a drug haven from what I hear. Thats why I dont live there.
mixxalotParticipantAlex is right
I dont get upset when I have a glass of wine. Punks use this as an excuse and I dont like illogical people who cannot use common sense to realize that punks are punks its not the couple on the beach having a Chardonnay cause the issue. Just like guns dont kill people. People do. But govmint cannot think logical.
